Introducing: Bronze

This is a new metal I’ve begun offering with this latest collection drop, and I’m SO excited about it. When I was developing the collection, I really wanted a gold option that was more affordable than solid gold. Plating didn’t really appeal to me because I wanted something that maintained its color the way gold does.

Enter bronze.

It has a beautiful warm hue that looks great alongside solid gold and gold-filled jewelry. It doesn’t carry the hefty price tag that solid gold does, and it can last you a lifetime.

I’ll be offering all casted rings and pendants in both sterling and bronze going forward! And…maybe solid gold, if there’s interest 👀 by @shoplasanimas

Would you believe me if I told you every piece in the North Star Collection started out as a piece of wax?

Each piece was hand carved and formed in wax before being sent off to a local casting house to be turned into metal using the lost wax casting method!

The North Star Collection is Here

What is your north star?

I was at a creative summit about a year ago when this question was posed. It struck me.
What is my north star?

When I put pen to paper, it was actually really clear. Nearly immediate, actually. On a surface level, it’s to create. But we all know it’s always deeper than that.

Growing up, I always thought I would be a doctor. Coming from a family of immigrants, this is not unheard of. Despite always being a creative and finding immense joy in my creative practices, I never considered art as a career path. Doctor. Lawyer. Engineer. These were the “safe” paths. Hard work, absolutely, but guaranteed money and success. I never seriously considered being an artist as a career until my 20s.

I felt shame in choosing the path of art as a career for the longest time. I felt that I was throwing away the opportunities my parents had worked so hard to provide me with. Only recently did I realize that yes, there has never been a neurosurgeon in the family before. But there’s also never been an artist. One who chose art as a career. My north star is to break that cycle of expectation and shame. To create, make a life out of it, and show future generations that they can chase whatever it is that lights a fire in their soul.

This collection is about following your north star. It’s about pulling at that little spark or idea that’s deep inside you. Bet on it, dream on it, work towards it, and it’s yours.
