The Swatch Book, Episode 1: Mood Fabrics

Color catches our eye, but feel makes the final call. A fabric has to be soft and wearable before we’d put it in a Rachella piece, and anything made with plastic is out no matter how good it looks.

Made the cut: cashmere, wool knit, linen/viscose, silk charmuse and twill, and organic cotton twill.

Didn’t make it: a stiff, scratchy wool, a polyester print, and a pink silk that just wasn’t our color.

Are you paying for plastic or for quality?

Flip the tag before you buy. If the first word is polyester, that’s plastic sitting against your skin all day! Trapping heat, and holding onto odor.

Normalize reading labels the way you read ingredients.
