The thing about lighting a candle is that you’re guaranteed light immediately but you aren’t guaranteed to not be afraid of what you find next. If you lit the candle, you expect to see what’s hidden but it doesn’t mean you’re brave or prepared enough to seek out places you’ve been afraid of. Even if you have the light in your hands it doesn’t mean you’re promised to receive what was unknown. We can only pray and do the inner work to be ready to receive the things we want to experience and learn from God. How could we ever plant a seed, not water it, and expect anything to grow? That isn’t some metaphorical shit it’s the way the earth reflects our decisions and intentions. by @shopsagi

Time feels more manageable and tangible to me recently. Things are making a bit more sense than they have been for a while. We are coerced to try so hard to understand every minute detail of life and society yet most of it makes no sense and it’s uncommon to come to a common ground, tho we all experience the same level of “progression” of the way we grow as a collective. The thing that matters to me most lately is valuing friendship and the moments I have chosen or been blessed with to spend time with the people I love and am inspired by. To be responsible enough to know what is important to me and those around me and issuing respect and intention even in the weirdest silliest moments is priceless. Circling back to things that can ground us in good or bad times is so reassuring that prayers are answered and heard and we have a part in one another’s growth. There’s something naturally humbling about a relationship or conversation with God and the lack of control we have sometimes even when we try so hard to maintain that falsehood of said control.
Things make a bit more sense lately like they did many years ago and I’m thankful to notice a shift in everything around me and I’m even more thankful to be apart of it with everyone I love. by @shopsagi

Throwback to my first and only quilt jacket for a beautiful friend. Cut from a 1970s larger floral Indian block print. Featuring inner cotton batting, jacket lining, and custom bias cut trim all around the edges. Quilt jackets r so overdone but not of this caliber! Thankful for current warm days :) #quiltjacket #quiltclothes by @shopsagi

I got this really cute 70’s rattan chandelier in a vintage shopping Facebook group for 40 bucks with shipping. It adds some more light to focus and more inspiration to my work space. 😁 by @shopsagi

This inventory I made for the fest was a special batch. I let go of some things holding me back from being hesitant to cut the gorgeous fabrics. And the results were stunning bespoke pieces like this one from a 1970s neon Indian appliqué quilt. 🫶🏼 by @shopsagi
