• Ensure the item is clean and nicely ironed.
• Wear the item, get creative, and find a spot with great lighting.
• If you’re using a hanger, tidy up the background and go for a neutral setting.
• Edit lightly - adjust brightness or colors so they match real life.
• For your main image, pick the photo that shows the item most clearly.

You made a sale – yay! 🎉 Now it’s time to send your item off to its new home. Here’s how to make sure it arrives safe and sound:

• Make sure your item is clean and free from any unmentioned defects.
• Reuse & recycle – pack it in paper bags or boxes you’ve received from other orders.
• A little thank-you note makes the order extra special :)
• Close the package properly. If the item is fragile, add bubble wrap or paper for extra cushioning.
• Finally - use the locker code in your order details to ship.

Once the buyer confirms they’ve received it, your money will be ready for payout or to spend on your next Yaga find! 💃

Cape Town, you’ve been wonderful 💛

We met so many great people this trip and heard so many real-life Yaga stories.

Yesterday we had dinner with the amazing Tash, founder of @stylerotate , and what an evening! Her energy is contagious. She’s the biggest fan of what she’s building, and you can feel it in every sentence, so no wonder Style Rotate is doing so well. And our favourite part? She told us some of her good friends are people she met through Yaga 🥹

Then another story happened the same night. Tash told our waitress that we’re the Yaga founders, and she lit up. She and her sister are huge @yagasouthafrica fans, and they saved up for their upcoming trip by selling their clothes on Yaga. She wasn’t allowed to take photos inside the restaurant, so we sneaked outside for a quick picture together 📸 So genuine, so real!

Hearing these stories made us understand how well-known and loved Yaga is! It gives us so much motivation to continue building for South Africa!

It all started with a stroller she couldn’t sell on Facebook Marketplace. Today, South Africans have earned R1.5 BILLION selling on Yaga! 🤯🇿🇦

I had the pleasure of chatting to the founder of @yagasouthafrica about how she built a business while raising two very young children.

Her kids were just 3 and 1 when she started. Today, she calls Yaga her third baby. 😂

What stood out to me was her belief that women CAN build businesses, raise families and pursue their dreams.

And the opportunities are REAL!

From a R60,000 Rolex sold on the platform to everyday South Africans turning second-hand items into extra income, Yaga is proving that there is money to be made from things we already own.

I love seeing entrepreneurs creating opportunities for other South Africans. ❤️

A stroller that wouldn’t sell turned into Yaga. 🩷

When Aune Aunapuu tried to sell her baby stroller, she noticed something. Buying from a business was easy. Buying from another person meant endless messages, awkward arrangements and uncertainty.

That question became @shopyaga, a preloved marketplace whose biggest market is now South Africa. Aune joined our CEO @michellekleu for a candid Founder Story on building a marketplace, earning trust and growing across borders.

Lessons that stood out 👇

🧱 Build around a problem you understand.
People were already trading second-hand. Yaga made the payments, delivery and trust easier.

🇿🇦 Look for behaviour already happening.
SA already had second-hand trading, online payments and delivery. Yaga removed the friction around an existing habit.

🪩 Fill the “empty nightclub”.
Aune listed her own belongings and messaged sellers one by one on Facebook to get the first listings live.

🤔 Keep questioning the model.
Dropping seller fees in favour of buyer protection fees brought more sellers and listings onto the platform.

🤝 Partnerships lend credibility.
An early TFG campaign gave a young Yaga the backing of an established retailer.

⬅️ Know when to pull back.
Stepping back from India was about resources and timing. It didn’t mean the opportunity wasn’t there.

Behind the business story was a personal one: a founder who once felt too nervous to tell her story, learning to lead as Yaga grew.

Yesterday @yagasouthafrica founders @kzha and @karlerikkotkas met @siyakolisi - how did this even happen!? Because @stitchmoneyhq brought us together 🙌

This is something we were not ready for, meeting the one and only @siyakolisi, captain of the Springboks, who led South Africa to win two Rugby World Cups in a row, in 2019 and 2023 - as the team’s first black captain.

Hearing him speak so candidly about his childhood and life completely captivated everyone in the room. He spoke with heart and sincerity, and reminded us all that great leaders build with heart: When a team reaches its goals, every person on that team reaches their own goals too.
