This is Amy’s third linocut and largest of the three that we’ve made. Printed from 23 hand carved plates in 7 blacks and 16 colors, ‘Site’ is a nocturne depicting a camp of tents tucked inside a ring of trees. The ambiguous narrative of the moonlit encampment teeters on the line of eeriness and serenity. We don’t know who, if anyone, sleeps in the tents, and why they have convened in the privacy of the darkest woods.

John Back and John Bocksel

Both Back and Bocksel are take a closer look at the relationship to the tools we use in our daily lives. Back’s subjects are everyday objects that are given an elevated status. Bocksel uses our written language and through a repetitive drawing practice calligraphic marks spill across the page.
