Apart of my “yes” to Jesus, my commitment, my surrendering came with some life decisions. Before Christ, I was becoming lost in an image, lost in an appearance, lost in my own understanding. I was distracted and not fully committed to my relationship with God, nor my schoolwork.

I always wanted to become a doctor and after three low MCAT scores, I wanted to give up again, again, and again. God had and will always have other plans. I asked God “what is it you want me to do?” “I’ll go where you want me to go” “I trust you with my life” “I give everything to you because you know the plan for my life”. This decision came with so many prayers, fasting, surrendering, tears, “yes” and so much more. I know that this is God’s will for me because he will guide me, strengthen me, protect me, keep me, and allow me to become the doctor I’ve prayed to be.

Jer 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”

“Living Proof of a Loving God”

What does serving God look like? I’m still learning that It’s obedience. (1 Samuel 15:22) It’s dying to your flesh daily. (Romans 6:6-7) It’s about considering God in all aspects of your life, good or bad. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Seeking his kingdom. (Matthew’s 6:33) Being in this world but NOT of the world.

I have to say Yes to his will daily. One of my challenges, when really deciding that i no longer wanted to partake in the worldly activities, were afraid of what others were going to say, worrying about if I may appear “too holy” or “not holy enough”. I was worrying about “missing out” on what appeared fun to the world that I wanted to participate in those things, and did. But I decided that I was so deceived and i was tired of living lukewarm and hypocritical. Saying that I’m a Christian and serve God but my lifestyle didn’t reflect such. Looking at everyone and comparing what my journey may be and how my life should go, only created false narratives for what I wanted in my life, not God’s plan. The spirit of fear and shame shall not overtake me or hinder me no longer.

So what if I talk about God and Jesus, he changed my heart posture, he renewed my mind, HE DIED FOR ME! One of my prayers is that God continue to work in me as I work out my Salvation, I’m such a sinful nature, that I am not worthy of his goodness but he so graceful and merciful. 🙏🏾❤️

Hey Y’all !!

Term 1 COMPLETE ✅ now Term 2!
Recently took my first exam and didn’t receive a score I was expecting but I still passed !

On this medical school journey, I want to be as transparent and honest as possible, not everything gone go as planned or what you expect and it’s okay. I’m still learning that it’s really all God’s Plan. An exam score doesn’t define you, a failure, a setback doesn’t define the person God is calling you to be💕 You have to still push harder.

I just wanted to encourage myself and others, if possible. God has gotten you this far, don’t quit! ❤️
