what was supposed to be a sunny day shoot turned into a rainy, freezing, and fog filled day, but it ended up working out perfectly for the video- especially in the final running sequence. please check it out!

Excited to finally share some moving images from Queensnakes, our short documentary that was filmed in September of last year 🙌

@gillingh2o and the @soarr_reptile team generously allowed our crew to join them in the field to see the work that goes into preserving Ontario’s endangered Queensnakes firsthand. Between trudging through water and spending days flipping hundreds of rocks, the team demonstrated how much dedication it requires to protect at-risk species. We were lucky to be one of the few people in Canada who have seen these beautiful snakes. More updates to come!

everyone please say hello to our documentary subjects (coming soon, not released yet, hopefully will be edited asap) 😁 i never thought i’d be chasing oyster-eating knobby-legged birds along the coast but here we are

i spent most of this trip convincing @alex_prieditis that these birds are deserving of love and i hope it’s worked. i suppose the best subjects are those that make you work for it and we definitely did just that - filming these birds involved crawling along the rocks, wading through water and scratching up all our gear 🫡 but seeing little black silhouettes lumbering around the shore brings me a level of excitement i haven’t experienced before and they make all the effort worth it

these birds are so special, thank you to @montereyaudubon for giving us so much insight into the topic!

i could try to be nonchalant and say that these moments are nothing crazy to me (just one of the many), but then all of you would be justified in calling me a fat liar 😔 i left this moment feeling like snow white herself

shooting on a 400mm, the group of deer got so close i eventually had to put my camera down, but i did get these shots before they turned into blurry blobs on the screen

this post has been delayed for FAR too long and i’m excited to finally share it and be active again! fingers crossed i stick with it this time because i have lots to share

i took this photo in manitoulin island, on a sunset drive that led to a pretty crazy number of deer encounters. deer are usually really sensitive to sound and easily scared, so there was always a big distance maintained between myself and them.. this particular doe, however, was interested in the clicking of my camera and slowly approached me to investigate (with her baby!!). i was soo happy to get this shot- she watched me fumble around for a while trying to position her perfectly in the frame. it wasn’t my speediest moment, but she’s a momma and had a lot of patience

i also vividly remember sitting in a giant swarm of mosquitoes in this moment, but in the photo it reads as something magical- fairies,, the aftermath of a spell or something of the matter.

my favourite glimpses of the humpback family!

a group of whales (3 adults and 2 rowdy baby humpbacks) came and said hi to our whale watching boat at #stellwagenbanknationalmarinesanctuary :) feeling so lucky because these fellas decided to stick around for a while and give us a show! the babies especially were in a playful mood and continued to show off their skills as they circled our boat- from slapping their tail onto the surface to breaching repeatedly 🌊

photos 2 and 3 show one of my favourite moments- when the three adult humpbacks swam right up to the boat before swiftly diving and moving under it 🤭

was not my first time seeing these beauties but this was definitely my favourite and most eventful whale encounter experience
