Armin Van Buren at Soundstorm ‘25, Riyadh.On my last day at the festival, my final shoot ended up being Armin van Buuren at The Tunnel, which honestly felt like the perfect way to wrap everything up. This time, I was lucky enough to be there for most of the performance, so I had the space to really slow down, explore different angles, and be more intentional with what I was capturing instead of just grabbing quick moments and running.For this edit, I wanted to push myself creatively and step outside of my usual “pure hype” style. I’ve done plenty of loud, fast, bass-heavy edits before, but this time I really wanted to experiment with a more dramatic, cinematic energy, especially at the beginning. I played a lot more with silence, tension, and sound design rather than constant noise — because while big drops and heavy bass are amazing, there’s something really powerful about creating space and letting moments breathe.The goal was to build this slightly unworldly, trance-like feeling, where the visuals, sound effects, and quiet moments pull you in before everything opens up. It was a fun challenge creatively, and honestly really refreshing to explore a different rhythm and pacing in my editing.Overall, this was such a fun shoot and a really satisfying edit to end the festival on. PLAYBOI CARTI IN SAUDI 🇸🇦🎥Shot and edited this insane concert of Playboi Carti in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in January, and I knew right away I didn’t want to make just another concert recap. I wanted to build something that actually feels like his world — the raw aesthetic, the distortion, the unpredictability, and the full-on chaos that his music lives in.For the sound direction, I leaned into two tracks that really capture that energy for me: “POP OUT” to set the tone early, and “ROCKSTAR MADE” — a track that still hits just as hard and carries that signature intensity I’ve always loved. The idea was to blend eras, moods, and textures into one piece that feels loud, restless, and alive.Visually, I pushed deeper into a glitch-heavy, retro-processed look across parts of the footage — almost like running the concert through a visual synthesizer. I wanted the distortion to feel intentional, not just stylistic, but emotional… something that mirrors the unpredictability of the sound, the lighting, and the way the crowd reacts to Carti’s presence. The more imperfect and chaotic it felt, the more honest it became.There’s something about his performances that feels unfiltered — aggressive but emotional, messy but magnetic. That “emo punk” energy, that rawness, that sense of controlled disorder. Translating that visually became the entire goal of this edit.And honestly, part of the motivation behind this was knowing you don’t get moments like this often. You never know when you’ll get another chance to shoot Carti again, so I treated this like it might be the only one — pouring everything into the pacing, the sound, and the visual texture to make it count.The night itself was wild. The energy he brought to the stage, to the crowd, and to Saudi was unreal. You could feel the anticipation, the movement, the tension in the air — and then it just exploded. Being able to capture even a fraction of that felt special.Really hoping I get to see him perform again sometime soon… and maybe even shoot something again when that moment comes. I shot this INSANE MOMENT OF CARTI IN SAUDI 🎥This was one of those right place, right time moments that still doesn’t feel real to me. I caught this insane moment during Playboi Carti’s set in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at Balad Beast, and honestly my brain is still trying to process it. Pure chaos in the best way possible.I’ve been a long, long fan of Carti. I shot him for the first time back when Die Lit dropped, which already feels like a lifetime ago. After that, I missed his performance for years — five years, to be exact — and I genuinely thought I’d never get another chance to experience or capture his energy live again.Fast forward to now, and suddenly I’m here, camera in hand, witnessing one of the most unhinged, electric moments of the night. No planning, no setup — just instinct, timing, and being fully present. These are the moments you can’t script, the ones you don’t recreate, the ones that remind you why you keep showing up with a camera in the first place.From being a fan in the crowd years ago to capturing something like this now… it really feels full circle.
