Milan/Bergamo Jan 2026 with the Premium Lager Boys. by @shotbyjawbone

What a year it's been.

200+ shows. More than 100,000 people through our door. Incredible audiences. Record-breaking ticket sales. And so many amazing moments in the Culture Quarter.

In January, Sunderland became a globally-recognised @musiccity.uk, joining the @musiccitiesnetwork.

We hosted the @BritishStreetFoodAwards with @SiKingOfficial and we celebrated Sunderland AFC's return to the Premier League.

We welcomed Public Record, a celebration of the sounds of Sunderland, in partnership with our friends Sunderland Culture, National Theatre and Sunderland Empire.

BBC Proms come to Sunderland for the first time ever. Historic.

Bad Manners, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tim Burgess, The Phantoms, George Lewis, Chris Ramsey, Hue & Cry, Imelda May, The Manfreds, Crash Test Dummies, Martha Wainwright and The Fizz all made their mark.

Our popular Glastonbury screenings were a hit.

And @ArtsNorthStudios was founded, as they presented Footloose and A West End Christmas.

It was a great year for Mackem music.

Emeli Sandé visited us in June with @Franz_Ferdinand performing at The Fire Station for the first time just a few days later as part of the Sunderland Year of Music.

@davestewarteurythmics joined us for two special shows in September, as well as a surprise appearance on stage with @tomasmithmusic, as Dave was inducted in the Sunderland Music Wall of Fame.

@fieldmusicmusic followed as they celebrated 20 years of an amazing career in November.

@thefutureheads sold out The Fire Station three times - inside and out - and The Kane Gang performed live on our outdoor stage.

We welcomed back shows you love - from The EverReady Band and Brandy Clark to A Jazzy Christmas - and we announced huge new shows for 2026, including Emmylou Harris's final ever North East date on her farewell tour.

We're ending the year with our busiest ever December, packed full of amazing audiences and incredible talent hitting our stage.

And we hope the best is yet to come.

From everyone at The Fire Station, best wishes for the year ahead - and thank you as always for your support 💛 by @shotbyjawbone

Tis the season 🎄Festive menu is now live. Spearing pizzas in and out of the oven like a young Oliver Reed. Join us for a festive slice, festive pint 🍺 dram of brandy 🥃 bottle of plonk 🍷 Specials board will be getting fired up to the eyeballs 🤑🤑🤑. Hope you can join us down the Deptford ditch soon enough 🤠 by @shotbyjawbone

Bam! New menu just dropped. Pretty proud of this one! We thought long and hard with it being our busiest time of year. What works with pizza? What’s hot at the minute? and what classic dishes do we really want to sling out there. So yeah… there’s mozz sticks for that easy reach or caponata dip for anyone who wants to google it 😛. Loads of good stuff to choose from and a few new bits o furniture to sit on 🛋️

Had a fun time shooting this at @littleshopsun this morning! The sun was out and the shop was BUSY!

Such a great selection of stuff available - Sandwiches and bakes supplied by the @wild_firepizza crew, an amazing choice of German beers with matching glassware! Brews from @vauxbrewery and @neonraptorbrew which are all hosted by @the_ship_isis

Oh and the coffee is class! Get yourself down 9am - 3:30pm Tuesday > Saturday for coffee, booze, baked and sarnies
