What a ride 🥹

I have so many memories to hold onto from the friendships I made, the bucket lists I ticked off, the experiences, the laughs and tears. Thunderlake has my heart and I’m so so grateful for such an amazing group of people, especially @showtimefmx for giving me the opportunity to perform and also becoming the first female announcer on Thunderlake 🙌🏼

Our time has come to an end but the memories and friendships made will be with me for years to come. 7 years we’ve entertained the people and it’s sad it’s over. We appreciate and are grateful for all the support and thankyou for cheering us on!

Until next time, we’ll see you on the water 😭 taken in Seaworld Gold Coast, Australia by @showtimefmx

For more than 30 years, Rubber Jungle Wetsuits has proudly produced wetsuits for the Sea World Waterski team. With the Showtime waterski team finishing their final show yesterday, it is so sad to see this historic show come to a close. It has been a major part of what we do here at Rubber Jungle.
From the early days until today, this partnership has been about so much more than supplying wetsuits to the best ski show in Australia. It has been about the people, the passion, the community, and a shared love of the sport.

Gary and the Showtime Waterski Team - Thank you for everything, congratulations on a job well done, and farewell.

The final Thunder Lake Stunt Show 💙

I was there for the very first show 7.5 years ago, and today I was there for the last.

What Gary Reid and the entire @showtimefmx team created was something truly special and the last full-time operating ski show in the world.

A sad day for the waterski community, but an incredible legacy.

Thank you, Thunder Lake. 🌊🎿💙 by @showtimefmx

END OF AN ERA

Final Water Ski Show to Perform on Thunder Lake at Sea World

After a seven-year run, The Thunder Lake Stunt Show, which brought water skiing back to Sea World, will perform for the final time at the end of this month.

The conclusion of the show marks the end of a significant chapter in Australian live entertainment and a deeply personal journey for ShowTime Entertainment Group Director, Gary Reid.

Reid first fulfilled a childhood dream of performing in the Sea World Water Ski Show in 1995, an opportunity that helped launch his career in the entertainment industry.

More than two decades later, he returned to Sea World with his company, ShowTime Entertainment Group, to launch The Thunder Lake Stunt Show in 2019, bringing water skiing back to the iconic Sea World lake.

“It has been an incredible journey, and I am extremely proud of what our team has achieved and delivered throughout the term of our contract,” Reid said.

“To be able to give so many people the opportunity to live out their own dream of water skiing on the famous Sea World lake will always be very special to me.

“I would also like to say a huge thank you to the crowds who have supported us so enthusiastically over the years, to Village Roadshow Theme Parks for believing in our concept all those years ago, and most importantly, to every member of our team, past and present, who has given so much to make the show what it is today.”

The final performance will also carry wider significance for the water skiing community, with the closure marking the end of what has been recognised as the last full-time water ski show in the world.

For Reid and the ShowTime team, the final performance on Thunder Lake will bring to a close a remarkable seven-year chapter — one built on passion, opportunity, teamwork and a shared love of live entertainment.

The final show will be on the 31st August at 3:30pm by @showtimefmx
