If you’ve landed on this page you’re probably wondering, “who the hell is this guy?”

Well, I’m a 38 year old skater, a dad to three great kids, and husband to an amazing woman for the last 14 years (together for 20!).

I grew up riding BMX, playing in punk bands, and doing hippie jumps, little ollies and bonelesses on my friends’ skateboards. I did a lot of mountain biking and skiing in my 20’s and 30’s, with the scars and broken bones to prove it. And a few years ago I picked up a skateboard and started skating every day.

When I got laid off from my UX/product design job a couple months back, I pretty quickly got sick of the dehumanizing nature of job hunting in late-stage capitalism and decided to make something I wanted to see in the world. So I built a skateboarding progression app called Shred Camp.

I think this puppy could help a lot of people grow as skaters and have a lot of fun. So my goal is to get it to 1000 folks this month. But I can’t do it alone. If you want to learn a kickflip, it’s actually pretty easy. Just do it the wrong way about a thousand times and you’ll be halfway there.

Shred Camp: World Cup edition, pt. 1 was a huge success. Hit up a bunch of skateparks across Montana (as always, huge thanks to @mtskateparkassociation for helping build these puppies), caught the Bosnia and Herzegovina v Qatar game, hit some stops in Bellingham, caught the Egypt v Iran game, then cruised back to MT. Had a ton of Skate Thoughts that will be coming soon. Stay tuned!
