+++ CARVING SPACE NOW ONLINE +++ LINK IN BIO +++One year after wrapping up our filming trip to @panoramamountainresort our documentary style short film is now online! Carving Space showcases some of the women at the heart of Shredcatz - riders, resort staff, and community builders - who’ve made snow sports a core part of their lives, outside of an athletic career. @arena_snowparks welcomed us for a visit of their shop! We’re incredibly excited to share that the team at Arena has built and donated a custom feature for the Shredcatz community - it will soon find its home at @grouseparks 💝💝💝During the visit @madzilla09 showed us around the shop and we learned about the details and skills that go into manufacturing terrain park features! We even got to try some welding and helped together as a team to get the Shredcatz mailbox painted and branded. We also chatted about our experiences as women in a mostly male dominated environment and how we feel that empowering and supporting each other is the best way to create a more inclusive and welcoming space for everyone, in the terrain park and snowboarding in general. We’re also super stoked to showcase one of the many ways of becoming part of the “industry” other than aspiring to become a pro athlete. We hope you feel as inspired as we do, and invite you to follow along as the Arena X Shredcatz mailbox becomes a staple at @grouseparks and join us for a jib on it soon 😻Huge thanks also to @gripitfilm for documenting this special day and capturing our excitement!We’re so grateful for the team at Arena who generously supported our dream of a Shredcatz feature @younggaill @madzilla09 @lucas_ouellette @steve_r_petrie by @shredcatz

One of the many highlights of this years Creative Surge was collaborating with other crews like @quayqueens & @shredcatz not only by having them attend but also by having a shared booth at the event ✨ The swag from all of our groups are a fundamental part of keeping the events and work moving forward. When you rock the swag you’re rocking support and we were stoked to share space with these! We aim to work collectively to break down barriers and bring change to the industry together. Big love to @quayqueens @shredcatz and @zuzyrocka for capturing the booth in action 🙌 and of course our guy @chris.o71 for handling the booth with glitter and a smile on his face the entire time by @shredcatz

@madyhart sharing impressions from our @shredcatz Takeover Ride Day through her lens 📸“Saskatchewan isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think about a snowboard trip… but don’t let the Prairies fool you. In Prince Albert, there’s a crew putting in the work and building a park scene that’s fully their own.This marked the second annual trip for Shredcatz, led by founder Beatrice Franke who returned to the prairies to co-host an event alongside @propagandashop for the female community of local riders at @shredthered. Temperatures hovered at a relatively balmy -10, skies were blue, the rope tow was spinning, and the vibe was all-time. The day wasn’t about heavy tricks or big names; it was about bringing the gals together, lifting each other up, and watching confidence build lap after lap.” - Mady by @shredcatz

FACES BEHIND THE FILM -ZUZYNext in our series about the cast and crew of our film Carving Space is @zuzyrocka Zuzy moves fluidly between both sides of the lens - as a powerful rider and talented photographer. While the cameras were rolling, she captured many of the still frames for this project as our production photographer. Based in Sun Peaks and rooted in snowboarding culture, Zuzy has a sharp eye for capturing the action.Off the snow and away from the camera, Zuzy channels her creativity into art, crafting pieces that showcase natural subjects with a surrealistic spin, showcasing her love for animals and deep connection to the natural world.See more of Zuzy in Carving Space, out now! by @shredcatz
