On Saturday, we headed down to the first ever @shreddlerfestival, which took place at Peddler Warehouse in Sheffield!

Featuring an array of exciting live music across the day, as well as street food and a merch market, it was great to check out this brilliant new addition to Sheffield's musical calendar.

WaterBear were excited to partner with Shreddler, and we caught up with our music professionals @franguitar_ and @lydon._, who were helping to deliver the festival!

Well done to everyone involved - we can't wait for what next year brings!

Something exciting happened in Sheffield last month. @shreddlerfestival, the north’s newest alternative music festival held at Peddler Warehouse, was a unique showcase of up-and-coming musical talent boasting a line-up curated by two industry greats, @christiancarlisle, the DJ and BBC Introducing presenter, and @loztaylorwss of Sheffield’s own @whileshesleeps.

Christian’s care for the music scene shines through and not just for musicians at the heart of it but also the silent cogs that keep the industry turning; the boots-on-the-ground organisers and journalists who are bolstering it up, working their way up to their own metaphorical main stages.

He’s been there himself. But now he settles into a spray painted leather sofa, embracing being on the other side of an interview for a change, to discuss gatekeeping and graft, vulnerability and why new artists should be sending him their music.

Huge thanks to @melville_the_third @hayleyrfoto @philippakr_creative @p_e_d_a_l_o for allowing us to use their artwork and photos for this piece

Thank you so much to @alchemize_uk for having me along to their first ever festival set, and at a festival as sick as @shreddlerfestival too 🙌🏻

Hopefully this is the first of both many more festival appearances and many more Shreddlers, if you didn’t get the chance to go this year I’m sorry to say you missed out 🔥
