What is this life, unless it is fully lived? Having the privilege to see all corners of this beautiful earth, having the freedom to travel and use my body to the fullest. Rich beyond belief to do these things in my lifetime.

Greenland, a place I’ve dreamt of adventuring to my entire life, a place I learnt about in school as a little northern BC girl, the land of ice. I am now here, guiding in the most unique, textured, rugged, wholesome, barren land.

It isn’t luck to get here, it’s hard work and determination, it’s dreaming big, setting the bar high and going after what you truly want. What is lucky though is to have health to do these crazy things. I might not die rich, but my god will I ever have a life full of “life money,” when I do go. taken in Greenland by @shrediger

Lessons from Alaska;

Be open minded to change
Be patient
Have daily check ins
Be very open with communication / expectations
Let the ego go
Let go of expectations of what you hoped for
Try not to be objective minded
Bring spray in hair conditioner
Be kind, everyone is trying their best
Absorb the beauty in the wait

You know when you love something so much all you wanna do is protect it? But when you see it hurting you hurt too? That’s how I have been feeling for quite sometime for our beautiful planet. Climate anxiety is real no matter who you are, what you do for a living. I spend nearly every single day outside for work and I’ve seen the change firsthand over all these years as a Wildland Firefighter and as a Snowboard Guide.

It’s so hard love the outdoors so much, create my entire life career around just being outside, protecting it and showing others this beautiful planet, but also being apart of the problem.

It’s hard not to feel helpless. With joining @protectourwinterscanada @protectourwinters 9 years ago, I realized I wasn’t alone. There is a collective group of bad ass athletes, policy changers, climate scientists, stakeholders, community planners that care a lot. If you feel like you could use some connection, community input, have a voice, want to make a difference sign up as a member of POW. We are stronger in numbers. If we want to have a bigger voice, the more members we have (100,000+) the easier it is to lobby at the government level.

After an exhausting summer apart fighting fire, having a rainy day weekend with no plans but to reconnect was the best thing we could have ever done. We had the chance to experience @sparklinghill and all of its magic. From the nicest rooms with private tub, lake view, to the most amazing variety of saunas, pools and cold therapy. We left finally out of fight or flight and rested, restored and deeply connected. Thank you guys so much for this experience, and the memorable birthday gift 🙏🏽 by @shrediger

Do you have something in your life that completely consumes you and your entire life? You dream about travelling the world to do it? Having the privilege to shred in crazy cool remote locations is something that fills me to the brim. If you’ve never been to the Arctic Circle, it’s one place you have to experience before you die. Summers have never been easy for us, even after 10 years of dating a fire fighter, and now being one myself, it doesn’t seem to feel any easier. There is always to much uncertainty, little to no time together and a constant state of trying to not get your hopes up because it is far to unpredictable. I dream of a summer as a family, I envy the ones that get to see each other and enjoy it. Camping, hiking and normalcy, being in each other’s company for more than a simple 2 days “reset” out of 8 weeks apart. by @shrediger
