$Naina: The hunt on MX Fatafat . Some journeys arrive quietly and change you in ways you don’t immediately know how to explain, this project was one of those. I’m deeply grateful for this chance @mxplayer and not just for the opportunity, but for the trust that came with it. Special thanks to @pravintalan and @rupali_talan for believing in me, holding immense faith when it mattered and guiding me at every step of the way. That belief stays longer than applause ever does 🙏🏻 What people see on screen is just the final layer. What stays with me is the time, the effort, the long hours, the shared silences, the exhaustion, and the collective intention that went into creating this. Every single person showed up, fully. And that’s something I’ll always respect. Working alongside @itsindiratiwari @imshahwarali and @hasnainhyderabadwala was extremely grounding and inspiring at the same time. I am truly grateful for the generosity, the ease, the guidance and the energy you brought into the space. Got to learn so much from each one of you 🤍 I’ve always dreamt of stepping into an action thriller, and I didn’t expect that dream to find me so early in my journey. Feeling thankful, humbled, and quietly proud of this one. Thank you @dilshadpatel for bringing me closer to my dream 🤍 Thank you to everyone who was part of this 🙏🏻 Lots of hard work, blood and sweat gone into making this ( in literal sense haha) Sharing this with you now, with a full heart. I hope you feel even a fraction of what we felt while making it ♥️ . . @mxplayer @pravintalan @rupali_talan @the_artofvisuals @itsindiratiwari @imshahwarali @hasnainhyderabadwala @amazonmxplayer @amaan.bakshii @mehmood_bakshi @ramsirka_official @simarjeet_suman @vijaysmakeupartist @alishashaikh4779 . . Huge congratulations to the incredible team behind Sonia Honey for winning the Best Short Film Award at the Gange Sur Seine Film Festival in Paris!

We are deeply honored by this beautiful recognition. A massive and heartfelt thank you to the esteemed jury, including Céline Malraux, Gwendolyn Gourvenec, Robert Kory & Luc Béraud for believing in our story and appreciating our creative vision.

Our sincere gratitude goes out to the festival's visionary founder and artistic director, Chayan Sarkar, and the entire organizing team for providing such an incredible platform in France to champion independent South Asian cinema.

To every single member of the cast and crew who poured their heart, soul, and hard work into Sonia Honey, this moment belongs to you! And to our audience, thank you for the endless love and support that keeps us telling stories. ❤️

True storytelling thrives when it is rooted in a culture of equity, visibility, and structural change.

We are immensely proud and deeply honored to announce that Sonia Honey, written and directed by Ameesha Joshi, has been officially selected for the wonderful @reelworld

For over two decades, Reelworld has stood as a sanctuary for systemic transformation within the cinematic landscape. Founded by Tonya Williams, it is an institution built on a profound value system, one that does not merely showcase underrepresented stories, but actively builds the equity, industry access, and professional infrastructure required for diverse storytellers to sustainably exist and lead. To be included in a space that so fiercely champions the authentic voices of Black, Indigenous, Asian, and South Asian creators is a massive milestone for our film.

Sonia Honey, an intimate eleven-minute exploration of a middle-aged actress navigating the fragile boundary between reel performance and the harsh reality of aging and caregiving, finds its perfect counterpart in this ecosystem. The film speaks directly to the invisible crises that women face as their social relevance is rewritten. This narrative completely aligns with Reelworld's dedication to stories that challenge stereotypes, unearth systemic truths, and harness cinema for genuine social good.

Being selected for the festival and summit feels like a total realization of what independent filmmaking should be. It places our creative work in direct conversation with a community committed to moving the entire media sector forward toward equity and authentic representation.

We are incredibly grateful to the programming team at Reelworld for recognizing the heart of our film and welcoming us into a legacy that values the human investment behind the art.
Toronto, we cannot wait to share Sonia Honey on your screens this October.
