Figuring out life in London. One day a a time.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Just some casual oversharing.

I recently realised I’m at the big 40 minus one year of my life, and that made me sit back and think a little about myself, and everything I enjoy, and how I spend my time.

And somewhere between too much caffeine and the impending existential crisis, I realised I’ve always quite liked it here, sharing (and over sharing) moments from my life with zero filters.

So, hi, I’m Shreya! Let’s begin again, shall we? by @shreyashively

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Which is great until you start hating what brought you joy.

Don’t get me wrong. I am extremely jealous of creative people who make a living out of their passion. But let’s not take away the amount of talent and hard work they need to put in for it.

Sometimes hobbies should be just that - a simple break, a reprieve, a moment of joy.

Was moving to London worth it… The final part, because while I can go on and ON about this, 3’s more than enough, no?

Was moving to London worth it?
Yes, it’s expensive but there are always ways to cut down costs, if you put in the effort. The city offers a LOT for you to do and experience for free or low cost as well.

But your career trajectory changing is something you need to come mentally prepared for- and know very clearly what your priorities are and what you’re moving here for.

A few thoughts on moving to London at 38, was it worth it, and is it for you?
So many things to keep in mind! But here I talk about the standard of living versus the cost of living, the first few things that I noticed when I moved here.

August was a mix of finding joy in the mundane, becoming a tourist in London again, and a lot of introspection as I entered the big forty minus one of my life, in the quietest most sober way I’ve ever done.

This video has been sitting in my drafts for a long time, while I figured myself out a bit these last few days.

But here it is. And here I am again.

Heart the Lover by Lily King - worth the hype? Definitely one of my wholesome reads of the year.

P.S. had the weirdest realisation, mirroring my video to correct it makes my face feel funny. How is that possible?
How can I prefer one side of my face to the other?
