Sorry for the unacceptably long hiatus but I’ve had mental elf hehe.

Had to pop back to tell you about how sexy Crispín was. The price tag? Orrible. But unfortunately it was so worth it

But everything was sensational! 🌶️ emoji by my star dishes and 🤖 emoji by what I wouldn’t order again.

🍜 Ye Ye Noodles & Dumplings, £35 per head with a couple of beers

Went here on a team dinner and was so pleasantly surprised! Quite limited menu which I am a fan of cos my theory is it means they do what they do well… thoughts?

One thing about me is I j’adore soup dumplings and these were actually incredible? So squidgy and juicy.

The noodles were delicious and chewy with super tender beef brisket. The chilli oil was ladled on obv (though beware cos it’s pretty spicy already… but I like the danger ‼️). Also it does stain as my colleague found out lol so watch yourself.

Other starters were fine - could def do this super cheap if you just got the noods and dumplings. Will 100% go again!

🐷 The Gun, £34 per head with a drink

When I heard Supa Ya were doing a roast residency you know I had to DIVE to book a table and managed to snag one for me and the girls for their last Sunday! I was hideously hungover and got a yummy scrummy cider - was grapefruity and not very fizzy which was exactly what I needed to restore me somewhat.

Now onto the roast… I know I get accused of being overzealous on here but I genuinely think it was the nicest roast I’ve ever had? It was chashu pork and the crackling was bussing and the meat was flavourful. Cauli cheese included (!!) and the gravy was so flavoursome - could get the Asian inspired flavour here fr fr. Hoping they make this a longer term thing cos me oh my this was a slay 🤩🤩

🥩Smokestak, £60+ for sharing group menu with drinks

I really do not get to eat smoky barbecued MMEAAATTT enough this was honestly delicious. Makes me wanna visit Texas bad to get this kinda cuisine but turbocharged 🤤

- Beef brisket and pulled pork - 7/10. The pulled pork was incredible and I got to take leftovers back with me which tasted even better the next day mmmm
- Pastrami and pickles - 10/10. I love the pastrami pickle combo so much it just tantalises my tastebuds so GOOD
- Yummy dip - 6/10
- Baked beetroot, goats cheese, hazelnut - 7/10. Gorgeous combo, nice to cut through the abundance of meat lolz
- Burnt ends - 7/10. Creamy and smoky mmm
- Choccy mouse - 6.5/10. Tasted like Nutella very yummy but at this point I was in a coma so couldn’t tolerate it too much but tasty yummy

🇲🇾 Mambow, £65 per head with cocktail and a beer each

Mambow has been the top of my list for a lifetime and it literally blew my expectations out of the water. It. Was. INSANE!!!! We got to go get the Chinese New Year menu too which was an absolute delight. We were blown away!

- Squash Kapitan - 8.7/10. Such a nice caramelisation on the squash and the lemongrass flavour was unreal
- Chili crab kuih pie tee - 11/10. Spicy, incredible textures, so rich. Standout!
- Hawker style bbq quail - 9/10. The quail meat was delicious think it was my first time eating quail and I really enjoyed it
- Kerabu jantung pisang - 8.3/10. Delicious banana blossom salad but my lord was it SPIIICY! Proceed with caution
- Assam pedas daging - 8.5/10. Hot and sour beef curry, I’ve never tasted a flavour like it. Honestly dreaming about it to this day
- Screw palm cocktail - 6/10. Nice but felt more like a refreshing drink than a cocktail
- Company - 100/10 🥰

🥙 Mangal 1, £25 per head no drinks

I forget how bloody delicious this gaff is. Hadn’t been in like a year and it just never misses! The calamari I genuinely DREAM about it’s the nicest ever so crispy and epic

- Calamari - 10/10. So crunchy biting into it sounds like the screenmuncher sound
- Mixed dips - 7/10. Patlican salata bloody delicious, hummus somewhat misses the mark
- Lamb and chicken kebab - 7.5/10. So smoky from the grill! Such a good depth of flavour wow

🇮🇳 Jamavar, £130+ per head with two cocktails a person

Long belated post of my bday meal with my parents. Jamavar is a Michelin guide restaurant in MAYFAIR ooo lala! Honestly delicious selection of dishes and I left absolutely stuffed.

- Scallop moilee - 9/10. Delicious, creamy and cooked to perfection
- Telicherry soft shell crab - 11/10. If there is soft shell crab on the menu you best believe I’m chomping that! Spicy, fragrant, sensational
- Adraki lamb chops - 8/10. The quality of the meat was insane
- Kid goat shami kebab - 7/10. Lovely flavour but point down cos it was minuscule
- Palak paneer - 8/10. Creamy and dreamy
- Butter chicken - 6.8/10. Perfectly tasty just not in the butter chicken hall of fame for me
- Laal mas - 7/10. So tender! Flavoursome
- Pistachio cake - 8/10. Anything pistachio is a win in my eyes. Light fluffy

🌱 Tofu Vegan, £35 per head with one beer each

What an amazing way to finish off the foodie year. I’ve been wanting to go to this gaff for so long and I am so happy I managed to get to go. What I will say is that it was SO hard to whittle down the list as I wanted to order it all. Every single thing!

- Wontons - 8/10. Gorgeous filling, would have liked a smidge more spice on it though
- Cloud ear fungus salad - 6.5/10. Sounds unappealing but was so delicious and fresh with a v interesting texture
- Smacked cucumber salad - 6.5/10. Delicious and great to get some fresh elements in, very sesame-ish
- Kimchi & tofu stew - 7/10. Delicious!!! Tangy and sour and warming
- Sizzling tofu in black bean - 8/10. Gorgeous, dunno how they managed to get the tofu so crispy on the outside but squidgy on the inside ☺️

🌶️ Kolae, £45 a head with two cocktails

I know you guys always say I’m overzealous with my ratings HOWEVER I just have really excellent taste in food 😌 this was one of my best meals of the year. Every dish actually dazzled me! However be warned - if you’re not a spice head be very very careful and warn them because Holly’s head nearly blew off. White people be like 🤯

- Venison curry - 9.5/10. So so rich and spicy and the venison was deliciously tender. Don’t get to eat venison enough now I come to think about it!
- Dry minced chicken curry - 9/10. Larb vibes, actually salivating thinking about her
- Biryani rice crackers - 6/10. Very enjoyable but not still thinking about it today
- Prawn relish - 7/10. Yummy with the crunchy vegetables but beware - SPICY
- Mango and cucumber salad - 8/10. Fresh and needed to cut through the rich flavours of the other dishes
- Pickled mango martini - 1/10. How do people drink martinis wtf my nostrils flared in disgust everytime I took a sip. Still polished it off though

🍤 Nem Nem, £25 a head with a carafe of wine

The brief was cheap, fresh and healthy and it certainly delivered. Lovely Vietnamese in Angel and actually incredible value for money. Only downside is no byob but quality on a par with the Hoxton Vietnamese’s

- Lemongrass chicken - 7/10. Good quality chicken and nice gentle flavours. Felt NOURISHING
- Summer rolls - 8/10. Huge prawns, would’ve been a 10 if it was a peanut hoisin dipping sauce instead of a lighter one
- Niamh’s pho - she said it was sensaysh

🥪 De Beauvoir Deli, £9.80

My favourite thing about Xmas is defo the festive sandwiches, something about the combo of meat, stuffing and cran that just gets me GOINGGGG

🥯 Papo’s Bagel, £8

I’ve been a sickly little lamb and truly this is the only thing that I have been thinking about scranning so you best believe I had to pop in on my way back from the doccies.
