Stop by my table between 12:30 and 1:40 PM at @fairylandca in Oakland for Children’s Book Festival on Saturday, Sept 19! I’ll be sharing alongside 30+ of the Bay Area’s most talented authors, illustrators, and KidLit creatives. It is a massive celebration of books and the power they have to change lives. Kids get to meet the people who make the books they read and be inspired to tell their own stories! Get my books WHEN SCIENCE STOOD STILL, THE FIRST GIRL ON STAGE AND KADOOBOO from @booksonb at the event and I’ll autograph them. Hope to see you there! by @shrutree

My books have lives of their own and I watch them fondly as they go about their business in the world. I know I’ll never know of all the adventures they go on and the people they reach, but when I do get to know, I want to make a note of them. by @shrutree

I found KADOOBOO at the beautiful Central location of Vancouver Public Library! Also loved the rooftop garden, so of course I posed with our book! @darshika_varma @pagestreetkids @kaylatostevin by @shrutree

Bay Area Book Festival - Part 2 #babf2026 @baybookfest

It’s been nearly a month but I had to come back to post Part 2 of the Bay Area Book Festival.

The streets were vibrant, with sessions around every corner. We were spoilt for choice. Met a number of friends and writers I’ve admired.

The biggest surprise was just running into iconic author Thrity Umrigar at the lunch line in the author’s green room. I didn’t recognize her. We chatted, and then I casually glanced at her badge and nearly dropped my food. I think I scared her a bit also :) - it was just completely unexpected. We had a leisurely hour-long conversation about writing and her journey, and I came away inspired!

Also sharing pictures with @authorsandhya @colleenpaeff @meera.sriram @rachmakesbooks @natasha_stories @lesliebarnardbooth.books @jilanne2694 @tracihuahn @sjchildrensbookholidayfair

I can’t wait to go back next year! by @shrutree
