HAND • HEAD • HEART

Join us for this year’s Graduation Show of Graphic Design, Illustration, and Animation.

Inspired by John Ruskin’s idea that meaningful work unites hand, head, and heart, this year’s graduates have chosen a title that reflects their creative process - where making, thinking, and feeling are inseparable.
At a time of growing AI noise, this exhibition is a reminder that creativity is fundamentally human: shaped by experience, intuition, and intent.

We’re delighted to announce that renowned artist and designer Jimmy Turrell will be joining us for a special talk at our Graduate Show Industry Night. Taking place on Thursday, 18 June 2026, from 5:30–6:30pm in HPO. Further details will be released soon, along with an Eventbrite link for booking :)

Huge congratulations to 2025 BA Animation graduates Hanna Gorczynska and Jackson Hinkler for their success at the @rts_yorkshire student awards last night.

🏆 Hanna’s 3rd year film Beads of One Rowan Tree won the Animation category as well as Craft Award for Production Design.

🏆 Jackson’s 3rd year film Flight of a Baby Gosling won a Craft Award for Writing. The laughter in the room was magic ✨

Well done to all the other students who won awards last night, including Hallam’s very own @filmproduction_shu students. And a huge thanks to RTS Yorkshire and @leedstrinity for hosting! We had a fabulous time 🎉

The @showroom_cinema have very kindly invited us to introduce Little Amelie, the first in series of screenings of animated films in their mini-season, Animation For All!

As well as the introduction, we’ll also be showing off a handful of recent graduate films ahead of the screening - so it’d great to see you there if you can make it!

We're blessed with an abundance of incredible animated films at Showroom this month!

The season opens with a special screening of the award-winning Little Amelie in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam Animation, introduced by their team and combined with high standard student shorts produced right here in Sheffield! @shu_anim

LGBTQ+ History Month, Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme, and Masters of Cinema presents bring previews and new releases from around the world.

And of course. every Saturday morning at 11am, Family Time handpicks animations for children and adults alike, showcasing a variety of styles from stop motion (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Kubo and the Two Strings) to stunning hand drawn images (Robot Dreams, Wolfwalkers).

Well that flew by!

Had an amazing day at Manchester Animation Festival with our second and third year students! Between us we got to see so many amazing talks and screenings including #TheLastBlossom, a wonderful behind the scenes look at #InYourDreams from from Alex Woo and a whole bunch of typically @AdultSwimUK content at their New, Newer, Newest event.

So sad we can’t stay all week - thanks for having us @mcranimation!
