Gata Loops is one of Ladakh’s most iconic mountain roads, known for its steep hairpin bends and dramatic views. Every turn demands patience and focus, especially when heavy trucks cross these narrow roads. We were stuck here for almost an hour, waiting for the road to clear. It was tense, a little scary, but moments like these remind you that in the Himalayas, nature always sets the rules. And somehow, that’s what makes this journey unforgettable.🏔️

Sometimes the best part of a road trip isn’t the plan… it’s the people you meet along the way. 🏔️☕

We were driving from Pang to Leh when we met a group of travelers coming from the Nyoma–Mahe road, which joins the Leh–Manali Highway near Debring.

While enjoying a cup of chai together, they suggested,
“Take the right turn from Debring towards Tso Kar Lake, Puga, Mahe, Nyoma and Chushul… you won’t regret it.”

We trusted their advice.

And honestly… it became one of the best decisions of our Ladakh trip.

The roads were smooth, the scenery kept changing with every kilometre, and Tso Kar Lake looked absolutely breathtaking.

It reminded us that sometimes the most unforgettable memories come from saying “yes” to an unplanned turn.
