GOTCHA. You thought it was AI? 😂

It’s just me, Photoshop, and an unhealthy amount of decisions.

Shot @eyitayo_adebayo in @shugaxbrawn , then took the image through Capture One + Photoshop, sculpting the leather into that metallic finish, shaping the contrast, keeping the skin textured, and adding a Color Halftone to the background so the colors shift and come alive when you move your screen.

Every texture. Every tone. Every little detail, edited by hand.

No AI generated this.
Just the photographer got bored and started doing too much.

STILLNESS, IN MOTION.

Black leather was the starting point.

I wanted to explore how light, texture and movement could transform the character of the garment. The models were photographed completely static, then the motion was manually built in Photoshop @photoshop stretching and manipulating both the body and leather to make the movement feel intentional.

The clean white set gave me control, while carefully positioned lighting brought out the highlights, folds and texture of the leather that became essential to the manipulation.

No AI. Just light, camera, subject and Photoshop.

Black has a reputation for making everything look the same. These three prove otherwise. The colour stays constant, while silhouette, proportion and attitude keep changing. The uniform becomes personal.

The original idea may have started somewhere in the future, but futuristic fashion does not always need glowing lights or metallic armour. Sometimes it is simply an exaggerated silhouette, unfamiliar proportions and clothes that feel slightly ahead of their time.

Fashion has always been a language of identity, but its vocabulary has never been fixed. Silhouettes traditionally assigned to one gender can be reinterpreted, reconstructed and embodied in entirely new ways. Shugaxbrawn’s Boundary-Breaking Piece exists within that space: a deliberate confrontation with convention that asks a simple question, what happens when clothing is allowed to exist without a gendered instruction manual?
