We’re thrilled to have two of our graduating students on the longlist for the World Illustration Awards this year!

Here’s one of them, @logan.walton.art, in the Advertising category.

‘It’s Groundhog Day… Again?’ is a looping, animated poster celebrating the 1993 classic, Groundhog Day. The piece goes through the motions, with (an increasingly exasperated) Phil Connors, as he endlessly repeats key scenes from the film. Having only recently been introduced to animation basics, the project was a self-directed exploration of how Logan could inject extra character into his work.

We’re thrilled to have two of our graduating students on the longlist for the World Illustration Awards this year!

Here’s one of them, @florencehoneyillustrates, in the Children’s Publishing category.

‘Potioncraft: Recipes & Rituals for the Budding Witch’ is a hand-bound illustrated children’s book, inspired by the nostalgia of creating spells with things found in the garden as a curious child. The book aims to encourage connections with nature, whilst also nurturing confidence and imagination through outdoor play and discovery.

HAND • HEAD • HEART

Join us for this year’s Graduation Show of Graphic Design, Illustration, and Animation.

Inspired by John Ruskin’s idea that meaningful work unites hand, head, and heart, this year’s graduates have chosen a title that reflects their creative process - where making, thinking, and feeling are inseparable.
At a time of growing AI noise, this exhibition is a reminder that creativity is fundamentally human: shaped by experience, intuition, and intent.

We’re delighted to announce that renowned artist and designer Jimmy Turrell will be joining us for a special talk at our Graduate Show Industry Night. Taking place on Thursday, 18 June 2026, from 5:30–6:30pm in HPO. Further details will be released soon, along with an Eventbrite link for booking :)

We asked Illustration students at @sheffhallamuni to create film posters for our Made in Sheffield films, and what they’ve achieved is absolutely incredible 🤯

Come and make some toys with us! Tutor Mike @wearetado and our fantastic technicians have been playing with the new Injection Moulding Machine - and our illustration students are queuing up to have a go! We’ve also got a new 360 degree 3D scanner in the workshop to try out 🤩🤩🤩
