Designing a Nike Air Max Concept with Vizcom I recently used Vizcom to create the iconic Nike Air Max concept. Here’s a quick look at my process: Sketching the Concept: I started with a hand-drawn sketch, focusing on refining proportions and overall silhouette. Uploading and Prompting: After uploading the sketch to Vizcom, I adjusted the drawing and added prompts to explore different influences and design directions. Inspired by the interlocking structure of climbing ropes, Crossweave translates braided rope patterns into the form language of footwear. Around this time last year, I wrapped up the Pensole x Wolverine Worldwide 5-week intensive program. That experience led me to an opportunity to work with Merrell. Over the past eight-plus months, I’ve been learning, growing, and building alongside a truly strong team. My first footwear design is moving along well, and if everything stays on track, it’s planned for Spring/Summer 2027. Last Friday I attended the @blackfootwearforum at @plcdetroit and joined the @officialsketchbattle sponsored by @nike and @vizcom_ . My prompt was to design the ultimate skateboard shoe that celebrates creative expression — from the street to the park — while pushing the boundaries of both style and performance. My design explored Nike’s Foamposite material for durability in skateboarding, while strategically placing the @converse Converse star to increase board contact, enhance flex, and strengthen high-wear areas. The material pack came in two finishes: a glossy Foamposite option that allows skaters to graffiti and customize their pairs, and a rubberized Foamposite option designed for hardcore riders needing extra grip. Although my concept didn’t win a prize, I’m very grateful to Sketchbattle, PLC, and Nike for building this amazing platform. Big thanks to @plcdetroit , @officialsketchbattle , and Nike for building such an amazing platform for young talents to showcase creativity. 🙏 Also grateful for my @merrell teammates who came to cheer me on! Here’s my 1-hour rendering timelapse for Converse performance skateboard shoes — fast-paced, challenging, and fun. Inspired by the Converse star, I created a foamposite structure that supports flex zones, improves durability, and even allows skaters to leave their own marks, drawings, or signatures on the surface.
