In einer Zeit zunehmender sozialer Ungleichheiten, ökologischer Krisen und politischer Polarisierung wird die Frage nach Solidarität wieder dringender. Wo setzen sich Menschen für andere oder für eine Sache ein, wo gibt es Allianzen und gemeinsame Ziele? Wann ist eine Solidaritätsbekundung tatsächlich schon Solidarität?

SAVE THE DATE! THU 16/01-SAT 18/01 online screening “Other Colors” at our web platform. 🔗 in bio

“Other Colors” looks at color as an expression of racism as well as empowerment, at the use of color in art as a tool for socio-political critique, and at the connection between color, the Other, and human emotion. With contributions by Collective for Black Iranians (CBI), Parking Video Library (PVL), and Shur Collective.

We will present the recorded hybrid artist talk which took place as part of “Other Colors” permanently online: with artist and filmmaker Priscillia Kounkou Hoveyda for CBI, artist and curator Amirali Ghasemi for PVL, and artists Shokoufeh Eftekhar and Zolfar Hassib for Shur Collective.

The screening and artist talk were organized by MAO Museo d’Arte Orientale, Turin, and first screened in frame of the exhibition “Tradu/izioni d’Eurasia Reloaded” on 04/07/24 at MAO and online at www.mohit.art.

Thursday, July 4, at 6 pm!

Contributed by Collective for Black Iranians, Parking Video Library, and Shur Collective. The film screening, introduced by Hannah Jacobi, will be followed by an artists’ talk and Q&A session with Amirali Ghasemi, Priscillia Kounkou Hoveyda, Shokoufeh Eftekhar, Zolfar, and the audience.

Our series is called De-Humanization
where we aim to remove the 'de' restoring the element and compassion of 'humanization' from Kabul to Berlin.

Borders between us.

The @shurcollective is a PoC queerfeminist constellation of interdisciplinary artists and activists. Our backgrounds are diverse, yet our commonality is unified in bringing our political perspectives to life through art and interaction.

Their installation will be called: Borders between us
What do we perceive as borders - borders were created by humans in landscapes, just as we create borders on the ground, we also create borders in our mind.
What does this mean for our social fabric? How do constructions of privilege and oppression emerge from this? How can we as a society at least overcome social oppression? The aim is to engage in questions to deconstruct our own stereotypes in real time, exposing them and making them visible.
