Coming from Langa, Cape Town, playing at Awakenings is a moment I’ll forever be grateful to @bridgesformusic @awakenings for the opportunity. This opportunity came at a time when I was questioning my journey, my purpose, and where this art would take me. By God’s grace, I was reminded that every season has a purpose and that His timing is always perfect. Where I come from, opportunities like these are rare, which makes this moment even more meaningful. Meeting one of my idols @shimza.dj so far from home and sharing the same stage wasn’t just a career milestone, it was a dream come true. I’m grateful for God’s grace, for every door He’s opened, and for everyone who has believed in me along the way. This is a reminder that where you come from doesn’t limit where you’re called to go. EU tour still in full swing, gig guide dropping soon. 🚀 Cape Town, your girl’s back for a minute and ready to light up home before heading back to Europe for the next leg of the tour. If you’d like to book me while I’m in Cape Town, please reach out to bookings.shwellym@gmail.com, Let’s make these homecoming shows count. 🇿🇦✨ by @shwelly_m

Today in SA it’s Heritage Day and nothing makes us prouder than sharing some of ours with @shwelly_m’s story and her life-changing international debut at @awakenings, before there were only dreams. No stage, no big crowd, just Shwelly from Langa and a culture running deep through her blood. This is Shwelly’s story, our heritage, our music, our inheritance. I am, because we are. 🥳🩵 📸 Credits: @nisi.lbk @kayaelisabue by @shwelly_m
Wir gehen ALL IN FOR WATER - gehst du mit?
SA ➡️Amsterdam➡️Hamburg 🇩🇪 ROOFDROP BAR EDITION 🚀 @roofdrop_bar by @shwelly_m
What a special day it was. I had the honour of flying all the way from South Africa to Germany 🇩🇪 to celebrate 20 years of Viva con Agua which is an organisation built on the belief that access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene should be a right for everyone. What made the day even more beautiful was that we celebrated two milestones: 20 years of Viva con Agua and my 26th birthday on the same day. From the townships of Cape Town to Germany, being able to stand in a room surrounded by people who believe in making the world a better place was truly a full-circle moment for me. Happy 20th anniversary, Viva Con Agua. Thank you for turning celebration into action and using the power of music, culture and community to create a world where everyone can have access to clean water. Cheers to more life and more opportunities !🥹🙏🏾❤️ Forever grateful. by @shwelly_m
SHWELLY M WORLD TOUR 🌍🚀 I come from Cape Town, from the townships, where music is more than entertainment. It is how we celebrate, heal, connect and tell our stories. It lives in our streets, our homes and our communities, especially through the women who continue to create, lead and dream. As a township woman, I know the challenges of pursuing a creative career when opportunities are limited and talent is often overlooked. But I also know the power of someone believing in you before the rest of the world sees your potential. That is why this journey means so much to me. From Cape Town to Amsterdam, Hamburg and beyond, I am taking South African electronic music with me, the sounds, energy and stories of home and the voices of the artists and communities creating in places too often overlooked. There is so much talent in our townships. What has been missing is access, opportunity and investment. Bridges for Music has been a huge part of my journey, creating opportunities that have helped me grow, travel and step into spaces I once only imagined. I am deeply grateful for their belief and support. I am equally grateful to Villa Viva for believing in the power of connection, culture and opportunity. Support like this reminds our communities that our stories, talent and futures matter. Every stage I step onto is bigger than me. I carry Cape Town, my township, the women who raised me, the artists who inspired me and the young people watching to see if a dream like theirs is possible. From the township to the world, I’m building my path one beat at a time with gratitude, purpose and Cape Town in my heart. 🇿🇦✨ #ShwellyM #BridgesForMusic #VillaViva #VivaConAgua #awakenings by @shwelly_m
