Book: The Love Hypothesis

I completely get why The Love Hypothesis is one of the favourite novels.
I have read this book a long time back but posting it now because the HYPE is REAL!!
I expected a fun fake dating story, but somewhere along the way I got so attached to Olive and Adam that I forgot I was even reading a fake relationship. It was all the little moments, the awkward conversations, the quiet support, and the way they slowly became each other's safe place that made me love this book.

Olive was such a fun character to follow. She overthinks everything, doubts herself all the time, and somehow always ends up making an already complicated situation even messier.

And then there's Adam Carlsen. At first he seems cold, intimidating, and impossible to read, but the more I get to know him, the more I realize he's just someone who loves quietly. He notices the things Olive doesn't even say out loud. He understands her insecurities, never makes her feel like she has to change, and instead gives her the reassurance she needs without making a big deal out of it.

What I loved most, though, was how this story wasn't really about fake dating. It was about learning to trust someone again and believing that maybe love doesn't always have to end badly.

By the end of the book, Olive isn't just falling in love with Adam. She's finally allowing herself to believe that she deserves the kind of love that feels safe.
After everything she'd been carrying, that line felt so earned.

This book made me smile at my Kindle more times than I can count, and it reminded me that sometimes the best romances aren't the loudest ones. They're the ones where someone quietly stands beside you, makes you feel seen, accepts every insecurity you have, and gives you the courage to believe in love again.

That's the kind of love this book gave me, and that's exactly why I understand all the hype.

📖 ARC Book Review

Book: City Love Stories: Friends to Forever – Heartbeats and Hustle

Genre: Contemporary Romance | Friends to Lovers | Second Chance Romance
Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I honestly didn't expect to finish this book in just one day. From the very first chapter, it felt less like reading fiction and more like someone's everyday life.

Diamond became my favorite character. She has spent years carrying the weight of her family without even realizing it. Between being a successful lawyer, looking after her home, helping raise her brother's daughter, and always putting everyone else first, she perfectly captured what so many of us call the "elder sister syndrome." I loved that she wasn't written as someone who had everything figured out. She was tired, overwhelmed, and simply doing her best. The author also highlights challenges she faces as a Black woman in her workplace, which added another layer to her character.

Corey's return as Diamond's school crush made the romance feel so wholesome. The feelings were always there, but neither of them knew how to say them out loud. Watching them slowly find their way back to each other was one of my favorite parts.

I also really enjoyed Daniel's story. Seeing both Daniel and Corey get a second chance with their first loves while raising their daughters added so much warmth to the book.

One relationship that surprised me was Diamond and Kat's. Kat initially misunderstood Diamond, thinking she was bossy and intimidating. But instead of reacting, Diamond handled everything with patience and kindness. Their wedding shopping scene was one of my favorite moments because it showed how understanding someone can completely change a relationship. By the end, they truly felt like sisters by heart.

What I loved most is that this book isn't just about romance. It's about family, healing, forgiveness, and finding your way back to the people who matter.

Recently, I visited the Faces and Facets: Satyajit Ray in Colour exhibition, and it turned out to be even more special than I expected and I realised this after coming home and looking at the pictures took there. Seeing Nemai Ghosh’s photographs and reading Ray’s own words felt like the life of someone whose curiosity shaped everything he created.

There was one quote
“I never imagined I would become a film director... I was very reticent and shy as a schoolboy.”
I am someone....who’s always been an introvert, so I found myself standing there for a while, reading and rereading them. Somehow, it was comforting to know that someone who changed the world through storytelling once struggled to find his own voice too.

Another quote....
“All I know is that I am interested in many aspects of life, many periods in history, many styles and many genres...”
It felt strangely personal...relatable
Sometime I wonder if I should have a “reading niche.” One week I’m too much in historical fiction, the next literary fiction, then fantasy, memoirs, or even economics..geopolitics...sometimes it feels like I’m all over the place.

But standing there, reading about Ray, whose interests refused to fit into one box, made me realize that maybe curiosity doesn’t need to be organized. Maybe it’s okay to be messy...simply learning, discovering, and experiencing stories in all their different forms.

Have you ever visited a museum, gallery, or even read a book that quietly changed the way you looked at yourself? I’d love to hear about it.

📖 ARC Review

Book: Immortally Yours
Author: @authorbilliejames 💜
Genre: Dark Fantasy Romance | Vampire Romance

I picked this book thinking it would be another dark romance with the usual vampire romance vibe, but it turned out to be something completely different.
Initially, it took me time to understand what exactly was happening and why Levette and Warren being together was such a huge problem. But as Warren's past comes out, everything slowly started making sense. The pain, the loneliness he went through, and how meeting Levette meant something from the very first moment... I genuinely loved that part.
What broke me the most was Warren being turned into something he always hated. Throughout the story, his biggest enemy wasn't outside, it was inside him. He kept fighting himself while no one around him was really trying to understand him. He just became a pawn in everyone else's game, first Levette, then Lena, then the authority, and that honestly made me feel so bad for him.
When Warren left Levette, I understood why he did it. But I also wished Levette had tried harder to understand Warren's side. He kept saying Warren was the love of his life, yet he was always with others. Their relationship was toxic, obsessive, and messy, but that's also what made it so interesting to read.
After being apart for so long, when they finally met again, they thought they were ready, but they weren't. The curse and everything that happened between them was still there. I loved that they had to heal on their own before accepting each other. It made the ending feel so much more satisfying.

And Levette calling Warren "Mon Cher"? That was literally the PEAK for me.

Lena and Valeria's story broke me even more. The little time they got together made their separation even more painful. The longing, grief, and helplessness felt so real, and now I can't wait to read their story in the next book.
Overall, this wasn't just a vampire romance. It was about grief, identity, obsession, acceptance, and healing. I went in expecting one thing but came out with a story that surprised me in the best way.

ARC Review 💚💚💚

📖 Book: Faerie by @author_annacartwright
⭐ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 Genre: Portal Fantasy | Cozy Fantasy | Supernatural Fiction | Fae Folklore

I started Faerie thinking it would be something dark, creepy, or even thriller-like, but it actually turned out to be a much quieter and emotional fantasy.
The story follows Cora, a doctor who recently lost her husband. Looking for a fresh start, she moves to a small village, where a visit to an old bookshop introduces her to Mae and a magical book that chooses her to become the guardian of the Faerie world. As the story unfolds, we discover faeries, goblins, ancient folklore, and a magical world that's slowly falling apart because of human destruction.
What I loved most was Cora's journey. While she's trying to save the Faerie world, she's also learning to heal from her grief and find herself again. Mae was easily one of my favourite characters, always reminding Cora to be kinder to herself. One line that stayed with me was, "Losing someone close to you is always hard, but don't be too hard on yourself."
Thadesuss, however, really tested my patience. He kept doubting Cora because she was an outsider and because she was a woman. Even when he finally helped, it wasn't for the right reasons, and his decisions ended up risking the lives of so many magical creatures.
I also appreciated how the book constantly reminds us about protecting nature and the consequences of human destruction. The magical bookshop, woodland setting, and gentle world-building made this a cozy fantasy to sink into.
I did feel like something was missing, though. I can't really explain what it was, but I wanted a little more from the story. Still, if you enjoy hidden magical worlds, magical bookshops, fae folklore, and cozy fantasy with themes of grief and healing, I'd definitely recommend giving Faerie a try.

I picked up Crown of the Morningstar expecting a dark romance filled with a possessive MMC, forbidden love that usually draw me into a romantasy. But what I found was so much more.

This story is about Lucifer's rise and the establishment of Hell alongside his princes. But beyond that, it's a tale of war, power, politics, betrayal, loyalty, and the eternal conflict between Eloiheim and Lucifer, Heaven and Hell.

What surprised me most was the emotional depth of the story.

Despite building a kingdom and wielding immense power, Lucifer is constantly haunted by his greatest love: Eve. And while their love is undeniable, the story explores a question that felt incredibly real, what happens when the person you love needs to discover who they are beyond you?

After being sheltered for so long, Eve wants to understand herself, her purpose, and the world around her. She finds that purpose among humanity on Earth, even though her heart still belongs to Lucifer. Their journey isn't a simple love story; it's about love, separation, growth, sacrifice, and learning that sometimes loving someone means letting them become who they are meant to be.

What I loved most about this book were the dialogues. Every conversation carried weight and emotion. The words made me feel every moment. The grief, the longing, the love, the anger, the loneliness, the betrayal, and the hope all felt incredibly vivid.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end, and I found myself completely invested in both the political conflicts and the personal relationships.

If you enjoy dark romantasy with celestial battles, morally grey characters, Heaven vs Hell dynamics, powerful emotions, and a love story that goes beyond obsession and possession, I highly recommend giving this one a chance.

📖 Book Name: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo 💚

For so long, I've been looking for a reason to reread The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and recently I finally decided to pick it up again. Honestly, I only remembered bits and pieces from my first read, but one thing I remembered clearly was how much I loved this book.

As I was rereading, I found myself falling in love with the story all over again.

This book follows Evelyn Hugo, a legendary Hollywood actress who finally decides to tell the truth about her life and the seven husbands everyone knows her for. But the more her story unfolds, the more you realize that this book was never really about the husbands. It's about Evelyn herself, her ambition, her sacrifices, her mistakes, her desires, and the choices she had to make to become the woman she wanted to be.

What I love most about Evelyn is that she isn't written to be likable all the time. She's ambitious, selfish, determined, vulnerable, strategic, and sometimes incredibly frustrating.

The old Hollywood is absolutely captivating. The glamour, scandals, movie premieres, and magazine headlines make for an entertaining story, but underneath all of that is something much deeper. This book explores identity, love, loneliness, belonging, and the parts of ourselves that we hide from the world just to survive.

Rereading this book reminded me why it became one of my all-time favourites. Some books lose their magic when you revisit them, but this one didn't. Knowing where the story was headed made me appreciate all the little details and emotions that I missed during my first read.

I have to admit, self-help and motivational books have never really been my thing. But the title Hold On, You Are Almost There instantly caught my attention. It felt like something I needed to hear, so I decided to give it a chance, and I'm genuinely glad I did.

What I loved most about this book is that it doesn't preach. Instead, it feels like a mentor walking beside you, gently guiding you through life's challenges from the very first chapter to the last. The lessons themselves aren't necessarily things we've never heard before, but the way they're explained makes you truly understand and reflect on them.

The journal spaces after every chapter were my favourite part. They encourage you to pause, think, and acknowledge things that often go unnoticed in our busy lives. Sometimes we know what we need to hear, but it takes the right words at the right time to make it sink in, and that's exactly what this book does.

This isn't just a book I'll read once and put away. It's a journal I'll keep coming back to whenever I need clarity, reassurance, or a reminder to keep going. Honestly, I believe everyone should have a copy of this on their shelf.

As someone who has been an economics student for quite a long time, I've read my fair share of textbooks, reference books, and study material. But honestly, I don't think I've come across many books that explain economic concepts in such an interesting and approachable way.

While reading it, I kept thinking that more books like this should exist. So often, we are handed thick textbooks that somehow manage to make simple concepts feel complicated. But before going into all that technical detail, I feel books like this should be recommended to students first. They help you understand how economics actually works in the real world and build a strong foundation without making the subject feel overwhelming.

I know so many students who have pulled all-nighters trying to understand economic concepts and still walked away confused. This book felt like the opposite of that experience. It breaks ideas down through relatable examples, everyday situations, and questions that genuinely make you curious.

One thing that immediately stood out to me was the chapter titles and Hindi song references. They were hilarious, memorable, and honestly made me smile every time I started a new chapter. It made the book feel far less intimidating than a typical economics read.

I was also impressed by concepts like "Double Thank You Moments," "What Prices Really Tell Us," and "Good Vibes, Bad Data." These contain ideas that we often hear about but rarely understand properly and explained them in a way that just clicked.

Of course, there were many other interesting insights throughout the book, but these were the ones that stayed with me the most, which is exactly why I've highlighted them in the slides of this carousel.

If you've ever felt that economics is confusing, boring, or only meant for exam halls, this book might just change your mind.

ARC BOOK REVIEW ✨
📖 Book: Butterfly Position
✍️ Author: Cheryl Campbell

🏒 Genre: Hockey Romance | Contemporary Romance

Just after finishing the Off Campus series, I picked up Butterfly Position by Cheryl Campbell, and honestly, if I had read this book earlier, it would have definitely made it into my "Books to Read If You Love Off Campus" recommendation carousel.

It gave me so many of the same feelings I loved in Off Campus, the protective hero, the genuine care between the characters, the chemistry that builds naturally, and a romance that starts when neither of them is expecting it. Watching Zac and Madelyn go from reluctant interactions to something much deeper was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their connection felt sweet, believable, and incredibly easy to root for.

Zac was everything I look for in a hockey romance hero, protective without being overbearing, caring, supportive, and always showing up when it mattered most. If you're a fan of book boyfriends who make you smile every time they're on the page, you'll probably love him too.

And can we talk about Noodle? The adorable dog completely stole every scene he appeared in. He added so much charm, humor, and warmth to the story and honestly made an already enjoyable romance even better.

If you love hockey romances, protective MMCs, celebrity romance, found family vibes, and stories that give you the same comforting energy as Off Campus, I would definitely recommend giving Butterfly Position a chance.

Just finished White Nights by Dostoevsky, and I’m absolutely in awe! ✨📖 This book is a delicate mix of love, loneliness, and dreams, woven together so beautifully. Their conversations are pure poetry, making you feel every emotion deeply. Book: A Thousand Splendid Suns
Author: Khaled Hossein

Re-Reading A Thousand Splendid Suns was an emotional rollercoaster I’ll never forget. This book shattered me into pieces with its heartbreak and suffering but slowly pieced me back together with its quiet strength and resilience.
Mariam and Laila’s story is raw, powerful, and painfully beautiful. The line, “A man’s accusing finger always finds a woman”, hit me so hard, it’s a truth that still lingers. The waiting, the sacrifices, the love...it’s overwhelming in the best and worst ways.
Khaled Hosseini is a literary genius. His writing has a way of pulling you into his world, making you feel every tear, every triumph, and every ounce of pain and hope . From The Kite Runner to this masterpiece, his stories stay with you forever.
This isn’t just a book; it’s an experience. It made me cry rivers, reflect deeply, and left me feeling so much. If you haven’t read it yet, trust me, you’re missing out on a story that will live in your heart forever.
