Woven for one purpose, given another.

Inside The Fort in Shela, a length of our red and white Twiga waffle weave, cut straight from the roll of towelling fabric, was laid across the bed as a bedspread by @charl_edwards. It is airy, natural cotton with a deep, textured hand, set against coral stone, wood and linen. This is what happens when a stylist sees a cloth for what it could be: the same stripe, a new meaning, another layer.

A weekend in Watamu.

Our founder, Gladys, settled into Ibambe House, a secluded five-bedroom home on Turtle Bay with @eastafricanretreats. Slow mornings and afternoons by the pool, and nowhere else to be.

She wore our Peremende robe from the beach to the breakfast table, with a towel wrapped on her head after every swim. It’s the weave we keep coming back to, now made for days like these.

Handwoven in Kenya, worn on its own coastline.

Ibambe House is open again for stays. Plan yours with @eastafricanretreats.

Shop the Peremende robe online and in-store.

Introducing SAWA SAWA.

Sawa sawa means same same. It’s a new series from SIAFU, celebrating objects made by other hands that share our way of working: slowly, honestly, and to be lived with.

For Cape Town Design Week, we begin with vessels by @theminimalist.sa and flowers by @stoop.capetown. Polished steel, a curve of handle, stems left to find their own shape. Together, they hold their own on a table and leave room for everything around them.

And the weave we’d set beside them: our Sungura tablecloth, placemat and napkin. Handwoven in Kenya for quiet, modern living, they soften the light in a room, gather memories around a table, and carry stories between people and place.

Different hands, same spirit.

Made slowly, with care.

Made to order.
Our green placemat, handwoven for our wholesale clients. Drawing inspiration from colours guided by nature, it brings together subtle greens and golden browns for a calm, grounded table. This piece has quickly become a favourite across our Trade and Hospitality projects. Each one is handwoven with care in our Nairobi workshop, bringing structure, rich tone, and pure Kenyan craftsmanship to every setting.

A fresh look for our Village Market home.
Our Nairobi shop has had a quiet revamp, thoughtfully arranged to showcase everything from our loom-woven gowns to daily kitchen linens. Thank you to my brother @johnbondmacharia for lending his astute eye for the process.

Drop by if you’re nearby. We’re open and looking forward to sharing the new space with you.

We’re hiring: Social Media & Content Creator.
Location: Nairobi | Full-time

We’re looking for a creative, hands-on storyteller to work closely alongside our founder in shaping the visual voice and presence of Siafu Home. This isn’t a role where you’ll just execute a script, you’ll help write it.

If you have a natural eye for beautiful imagery, love creating reels, and are genuinely passionate about telling Kenyan craft stories through content, we’d love to hear from you.

Send your CV and portfolio to gladys@siafuhome.com to apply.
