FRESH PAINT JOB 🎨🖌 Father's Day Edition

Painted this memorial portrait for a friend a few months back and thought it was fitting to finally post it today.

As someone whose father is alive and well, I cannot fathom the heartache and pain of experiencing this holiday without him. Especially when it comes to social media.

This painting was a gift for @joeykolirin after hearing him speak on a poscast about the loss of a parent at a young age. His dad's dying wish was to never be forgotten so I decided to capture his spirit on canvas.

May he rest in peace knowing his family loves him and remembers him. 🕊

Last holiday pet portrait painted and delivered! 🐾🎄

As much as I love painting, this rush of Christmas orders really put the pressure on. That said, everything has been delivered and now I am grateful to be done with my commissions for 2025.

Thanks to the clients to hired me to paint gifts for their loved ones and thanks to my followers and friends for giving some love to these posts.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

Fourth pet portrait DONE. One more to go before Christmas! 🐾🎄

This particular portrait is a special one because I was asked to come take a photo of the kitty. When I got there, she was NOT happy with having her photo taken and resorted to hiding under her mom's toilet while meowing constantly.

The solution was to open the door to her favorite spot... mom's closet. So you wouldn't know it but this painting is based on a photo of a cat crouched on the back shelf of a walk-in closet.

I'm just glad the closet had decent lighting. 😉

I have one more dog to paint before Christmas morning, then I am finished with my holiday commissions for the year. The pressure is on!

Another holiday art commission finished! 🐾

I loved painting this kitty because of the big eyes and the long whiskers. How do you like it?

Only two more pet portraits to go before Christmas. The pressure is on but I am throughly enjoying the time away from my computer! 🎨

Second holiday pet portrait DONE! Just three more to go... 🐾

The wrinkles and the various shades of color in the fur made this little sharpei a tough one but I love how it turned out, don't you?

Kitty Portrait Timelapse 🐾 Got a rush of painting commissions for the holidays. Four more to go between now and Christmas!

This was the first time a client asked me to do a double portrait of the same cat. We went back and forth about the photos to include and the backdrop. The final result has gold paint to make the black fur pop.

Watch the timelapse closely to see glimpses of my husband making dinner in the kitchen while I work.

As an international art collector who used to have his own gallery in Palo Alto, he is always supportive of my art time and is the most honest critic when it comes to composition and likeness.

Even when I think I am done, he has no qualms about telling me I have more work to do. Annoying in the moment but invaluable in the long run. 😉

Do you like how this one turned out?

Puppy Art Timelapse 🐾 Got a new painting commission this week and the story behind it is so sweet.

An SF local did a search on Instagram for "pet painting San Francisco", found my @siartagallery account, contacted me through my website and then hired me over the phone.

The portrait is for a friend of his who just lost their dog. A sweet blue eyed girl named Ebi.

Memorial portraits hold a special place in my heart because I feel a responsibility to capture the soul of the pet to the best of my ability. To immortalize their fur baby so that they don't just see their face but FEEL the eyes looking back at them.

This piece will be shipping out tomorrow and with it I send all the love and condolences. Losing a pet is like losing a family member, especially for those like me who are child free.

My closer friends and family know this had been an exceptionally challenging year for me personally (more on that in a future post...) but the love, cuddles, and company of my kitten Miles have been my saving grace.

Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift idea for a pet lover in your life? Message me to chat!

CAT ART 🐾 Curious to know how I became a pet portrait painter?

I am beyond excited to be presenting to The Villages Cat Club in San Jose about my journey from self-taught painter to commissioned portrait artists next Monday.

I will share how I started painting fitness inspired art as a barre instructor, how doing 30-day art challenges during the pandemic sharpened my skills, and my passion for painting pets and memorial portraits today.

I will also bring a current painting I am working on - acrylic on canvas - as well as a variety of art greeting cards featuring cats and dogs I have painted over the years.

This video montage shows a small selection of the hundreds of commissions I have completed, so if you'd like to see more of my work, follow my art portfolio account @siartagallery 🎨

And if you live in the Bay Area and would like to attend my talk Monday, June 23rd at 2pm in San Jose, DM me to be my guest and I will send you the details.

Thank you to everyone who has commissioned me to paint their pets (and their favorite humans!) and for supporting the arts. 🙏

New Puppy Art 🐾 Absolutely fell in love with this fur baby while painting his memorial portrait.

As a child free cat mama, I understand how close we become with our pets and how devastating it is when they pass.

To be able to capture the spirit of an animal in paint is one of my most cherished and heart-centered creative outlets.

Thank you to @yhcalifornia for commissioning this painting for your friend as part of a fundraiser for animal rescue for pets displaced by the SoCal wildfires earlier this year. 🙏

NEW GUINEA PIG PORTRAIT 🐾 Say hello to Wilbur, my first pet portrait of 2025!

This is the fourth pet portrait I have painted for friend and art lover @yhcalifornia of @the_real_pigs_of_sanmateo and I cannot wait to see it on her wall.

I have a dog portrait to paint next and I honestly love how painting transports me into a deep meditation.

Away from work emails.
Away from the news.
Away from social media (sorry not sorry!)

It allows me to be completely present, to see with my eyes (not with my judgement or my ego) and to watch the soul come alive in paint.
