POSTS STORIES REELS

I have these rich aunties that have just decided to like me and force me to stay close to them. It is a privilege I don’t take for granted 💕

One of them, @amanda.dambuza brought us together for a beautiful evening celebrating Leading With Grace, an anthology curated by @wandambanjwa_khumalo ft. the stories of 32 remarkable women. And cos 1 celebration clearly wasn’t enough, Sis Amanda also chose the occasion to unveil her stunning jewellery collection with @nungudiamonds. This was an evening that brought together storytelling, entrepreneurship, creativity and the celebration of women who are building things that will outlive them. ❤️

What I found particularly special about the book is that it was created in honour of Nokwanda’s late mother, Mama Grace, with proceeds going towards the Grace Leadership Fellowship. Please do get yourself a copy of Leading With Grace at www.soulspeaks.co.za and follow the @soulspeaks_za and @leadingwithgracesa pages for some inspiration 🤍

Having lost my own mom in 2025, I find myself paying a lot more attention to the ways people choose to remember and honour the angels they’ve gained. There’s something so beautiful about building something that allows a person’s legacy to continue doing good in the world, long after they’re gone.

I also think there’s something quite powerful about 32 women, each with their own story, experiences, successes and challenges, coming together to contribute to something that will hopefully make the journey a little easier for those who come after them.

One of my favourite things to come out of this book has been the community it created. We’ve had a WhatsApp group since the book’s launch and I can confidently say that my net worth has increased considerably just by being in it. 😂

I left the evening feeling grateful. For the company, the conversations, the people who have gone before us and the privilege of learning from people doing such meaningful work.

Thank you @vastlysage_amandadambuza for being such gracious and generous hosts, and to Nungu Diamonds and @clarinssouthafrica for the very lovely gifts. We were thoroughly spoiled! ❤️ by @sibumabena

My favourite thing to do after every show is to go back onto the stage, look out at the now-empty space and just… take it all in.

There’s an energy that lingers after thousands of people who have just had the time of their lives leave and return to their real worlds.

I think that’s the part of what we do that I’ll never take for granted.

As people in production, we have the privilege of creating worlds of escapism. For a few hours, like-minded people gather in one place and allow themselves to be transported somewhere else. Their problems haven’t disappeared. Life is still waiting for them on the other side. But for those few hours, none of it matters quite as much.

All that matters is the joy.
The music.
The dancing.
The screaming.
The person next to you singing the same song at the top of their lungs.
The magic of performance and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself.

And then everyone goes home.

The lights come on. The stadium empties. The confetti is still on the floor. And I get to stand there for a moment and think: we did that. We gave people that.

This picture holds a thousand words for me. Gratitude. Humility. Relief. Pride. And, more than anything, a quiet reassurance to every person who has ever believed in me that I take the responsibility of that belief incredibly seriously.

Because this work has never just been about putting on a show. It’s about serving people. Creating something worthy of their time, their money, their trust and their joy.

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.” - Rabindranath Tagore

What a privilege it is to serve. What a privilege it is to create joy.

And what a privilege it was to stand in that empty stadium, after all that noise, and know that for a few hours… we gave people a world to disappear into. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who allowed us to serve at #ScorpionKingsLive 2026 🌟🇿🇦✊🏽

Thank you for capturing my joy @artbyeps 📷 and thank you for the fit @papta_official 🖤 @_rtcstudios via @mpumelelomacu for the money shot of the stadium and fireworks 💛✊🏽🔥 by @sibumabena

WOMEN WHO CREATE - SIBU MABENA

There is more to a woman than the title she carries or the company she leads.

A day can move between ideas, conversations, creative pursuits and the work of building. As the founder of Duma Collective, Sibu is no stranger to turning vision into something tangible but that is only one part of who she is.

For our Women’s Month series, we step into her world and witness the work, movement, decisions and moments of inspiration in between.

If you don’t understand the algorithm, you don’t understand your audience.

In this moment, @sibumabena reminds us that the algorithm isn’t just a system, it’s insight. It’s how brands learn what their audience responds to, what resonates, and what actually moves.

Before your content pops, it needs to connect, and connection starts with knowing who you’re speaking to.

Because in today’s world, attention isn’t random. It’s earned through understanding.

Red Bull made me a Talent Manager… quick story time!

In 2012 I was running a dance troop I started under @annettemnyandedancingschool_ and it was called #PhlyNation. We entered this all girl dance team into the #RedBullBeatBattle 2012 and that’s how I became an official team manager. That experience taught me so much about packaging, being efficient, being an over communicator, the business of entertainment and so much more.

Fast forward 14 years later and I am now a founder of @goldenthreadafrica , a talent management business.

If @redbullza could teach me that so long ago, imagine what they can do for young innovators TODAY!!! That’s exactly what Red Bull wants to do for young innovators who have great ideas that meet their criteria and want a platform to showcase them. The Red Bull Basement empowers the next generation of innovators to develop and launch outstanding ideas, accelerated by AI technology with a particular focus on students, recent grads or self starters 🌟

Enter your idea through the easy to navigate platform (link found in my bio) and I could be meeting YOU in the judging rounds.

Entries are closing real quick (read 10 March, 2026) and the final winner gets to travel to a place that requires a passport and visa to go and represent SA at the World Final 🇿🇦🤏🏽

Please enter… your idea could be the one that changes the world!

This is what building in public has looked like for us… and I’m genuinely grateful for it 🙏🏾🥹 9 years in and creating employment is still the best part of the gig ❤️

Different seasons. Different people. Same intention to build something solid.

Some joined and grew into new opportunities.
Some stretched themselves here and moved on stronger.
Some have stayed and continue to lay brick with us every day.

Every single person in these photos has shaped Duma in some way.

Duma Collective has never just been a workplace. It’s been a place to learn, to be challenged, to take ownership, to try again, to get it right. Sometimes messy. Often magical. Always meaningful.

And now we’re opening the door again.

We’re looking for Account Managers, Producers, Copywriters, Social Media Managers, Events Production talent and an Accountant (check slide 2) for full time in office in Randburg (with Wednesdays as WFH days).

More than anything, we’re looking for good people. People who care about their craft. People who take responsibility. People who want to grow and build work that stands up in the real world.

If you’ve been watching @dumacollective and quietly wondering whether you’d fit in here… this might be your moment.

Please Email your CV and Portfolio to careers@dumacollective.com
