Part of the creative process behind Sicotropical. What a journey. Facing yourself, not liking what you draw, watching the weeks go by and feeling like you haven’t made any progress. I started back in March, and by August, when I thought everything was finally “finished”, I realized I didn’t like it. It wasn’t what I wanted. So I started all over again. Another important thing I learned is that rushing to finish a design is terrible advice to follow. Designs need time to come to life. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But anyway, you have to keep going, keep drawing and painting. A lot. A whole lot. And since we chose to do this, how great is it that this is the journey! Because what are we here for, if not to create? Anything, really. Just create. by @sicotropical.studio

Y dibujar, dibujar, dibujar mucho! Eso y equivocarse 78mil veces. Y seguir.

Behind the scenes of Sicotropical: the workspace, whatever it may be, as long as it gives you the freedom to create. Paper, nothing replaces a notebook and a pencil (or a red Bic pen, the best invention ever for sketching). My closet / meeting room / assistant / friend… etc. Playing and experimenting with colors is key: if you’re not having fun, something’s wrong. Testing things before sending them to print: essential. And drawing drawing drawing a lot. And making mistakes 78,000 times. And keeping going. by @sicotropical.studio

Bienvenidos a SICOTROPICAL.

🍉 🍉 🍉 🍉 🍉

After lots of drawing, experimenting with colors, changing ideas, and starting over… more than a few times, SICOTROPICAL was born.

A personal project that brings together my love for drawing, colors, nature, and the desire to create clothing and art objects with an identity of their own.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing everything I’ve been working on.

This is just the beginning.

Welcome to SICOTROPICAL.
