That one time when I got to go visit Jamie and Claire and brought them a copy of this new track to listen to.
Jamie said the beat had a good bounce. Claire thought the vocals need more delay. Then Roger came along and sang some harmonies over it, (before he got hung).
It was a good day in the ye ol’ 1700’s.

This is a track I put out a couple years ago under “Saffell”; “Staying Away”. I way under-promoted this track. I got a little burned out on all that. Even though I am transitioning into the new artist name, Sideband Drift, there are a few pieces I shared that fit better under this banner. There are several other tracks I teased but never released. No reason to abandon those just because have more new material. I will likely re mix and re master a couple.
I would not dip back into the full album “Lay it on The line”. That will remain as a Saffell release. Those tracks fall on the other side of where I demarcate my transition. These are the benefits of being largely unknown! Barely anyone is aware of this music anyway!
I just have to get out of the mindset of focusing on my 5 or 6 friends who follow me. 😂

This beat is for anyone who likes a little Rhodes/Electric piano in their bounce.

I did not write this song about people discovering I have a lot of hair under my hat. But, “They Found Me Out” seems like a fitting track to pair with this little number from a hotel room in Chicago.

Aside from live music, my favorite experience of music is driving in the car and being uplifted, transported and transformed.
The combination of just the right tone in the lyrics, the passing scenery, and miles to go does it for me every time. Most musicians start this journey because they dream of providing that experience for another. At least, I did.
