story time

3 summers ago i slipped a disc playing basketball. for months, i fully lost my ability to engage in any sort of fitness. so with all this free time i bought a dj controller just to fill the spare time i had from injury…and that’s how the stage name “SideFX” came to life (since djing was a side effect of the injury…🙃)

i played for the first time in front of a crowd in august 2023. but in my early dj days, recovery ended up taking over a year to fully heal. even just standing up for 3-4 hours left me in insane pain after a set.

injury totally sucks but i came out of it being able to make the most of where i was at in that point of my life. i had zero expectations of what i could do with it. but falling in love with edm & djing would’ve never happened if i didn’t break my back in june 2023. so in a weird way im grateful for the way God worked things together even if i couldn’t see it at the time.

flash forward to today and im beyond blessed to be fully recovered from injury and now headlining in a city im not even local to for the first time ever. it blows my mind a bit to look back from where things started and where we are today. and for that reason, this one is super special to me.

we didn’t come this far just to come this far. story’s just beginning. august 8, 2026. SideFX at @memoireboston . SEE YOU SATURDAY. taken in Mémoire Boston by @sidefxmusic
