Happy November! We are excited to have some wonderful events coming up in this season of gratitude.

There are still tickets to see @jscalzi this Friday November 6th! He is your favorite sci-fi writer's favorite sci-fi writer, and we cannot wait to celebrate MONSTERS OF OHIO with everyone.

We also have two very special story times at @th@caboosebookshop ! On Saturday November 21st, ballerinas from @allegrodancemi 's Nutcracker Production will be reading the Nutcracker in costume! And on Saturday November 28th, @kristen_remenar and @mattmail2025 will be joining us with donuts and cider for a very special Small Business Saturday Story Time!

Speaking of Small Business Saturday, this is one of our most favorite days of the entire year! Sidetrack will have surprise gift bags to the first 25 customers in the door that morning. We will also be giving away a FREE Sidetrack beanie with purchases over $100 while supplies last, and we'll have Blind Dates with a book available with purchase (also while supplies last). Shop small & support local 💚

We may or may not be still recovering from the A COURT OF SPLINTERED HARMONY midnight release party, but we had the absolute best time counting down the minutes to midnight with all of you! From trivia to themed drinks at the bar to fabulous face painting to a costume contest runway (stay tuned for pics!), we will be reliving this night for a very long time.

Thank you to our friends at @loveandotherbooksshop for the collaboration and partnership on this one 🫶 And big thank you to @215westferndale for hosting us, @wildraspberryfacepainting for painting so many faces, and @wendydayauthor for bringing the bookish goodies!

Who has finished the book already?!

Pumptina may be an outdoor cat for now, but she is still excited to show off this week’s new releases and tell you a little bit more about our witchy & candy fueled first ever Halloween party on the 30th!

Alex P recommends STELLAR SMOKE this week: “Finally, a scifi that pins down the extractive, exploitative nature of AI.”

Rachel loved WHALE HARBOR, “Fantastic characters and immersive storytelling.”

Jenny is also excited about THE AGE OF ALCHEMY, “This is the kind of history I want to read—sparkling narrative that feels present and alive.”

Also, stay tuned for our event with RED PREPPER author @eshonkwiler in December! As for SIMPLY INA, Courtney is more than happy to show off her @inagarten tattoo ✨

Tickets for the party are on our website! We can’t wait to see you!

Couples who read together, stay together.

Thank you @royaloaklibrary for bringing Gourdy over to the bookstore for a meet cute in the stacks with Pumptina 💗. And of course their skeleton fingers would brush over the skeleton-handed Devour Me by @emilyrathauthor 😌

Whether it’s at your local library or favorite indie bookstore, connecting over reading is the best!

Is there anything better than a fresh table of new releases on a cozy fall day? So many of these releases have also already been loved by our booksellers! Which books are you picking up this week?

PS: we only have THREE copies of I’LL BELIEVE IN ANYTHING signed by Jacob Tierney left!
