Just wanted to say happy 8/6 day for all my AE86, Corolla, and Toyota enthusiasts (GT86 owners too I guess, even tho it’s a Subaru.. 🤪). Try to remember the fun and passion that brings us together over some old Japanese tin cans. Also congrats on owning a car that’s already experienced 40+ years of service and torture. Go for a drive today. Or at least turn a few wrenches! AZ peeps should come out to Cafe86 tonight for some coffee, cars, and hangs. I won’t be bringing an 86 unfortunately, but I will be there. Come say hi! #Cafe86 #AE86 #Trueno #Levin #Corolla #Toyota #BRZ #GT86 #FRS by @sidewayseightsix

Super proud of @chelseadenofa for taking home the 2023 @formulad drivers championship.
Back in 2014 I moved in with my great buddy @doozer_one who at the time was moonlighting as a chassis builder for no other than Chelsea Denofa. I was working full time in the HVAC/R industry. There were lots of long nights in the shop during that year and off season. I’d come home from a 14-16 hour shift in the heat, and somehow get excited to pump 3-4 more hours into a BMW E46 and do it all again the next day. I learned a whole lot about BMWs, Fabrication, Simplification, and Composites. In fact my very first composite projects were making a carbon fiber E46 roof skin, and a collapsible E46 rear clip that would function with a trick coilover sprung, collapsible rear bash bar. We used graphite tent poles to make the body spring back out lol.
I was given the opportunity to travel with the team in 2015 to Long Beach, Atlanta, and Irwindale. We had so much bad luck at those events. From barely qualifying due to engine trouble at LBC, and staying up all night no sleep for two days first trying to diagnose an engine, then building and swapping an engine in a single night for competition. To having more engine trouble in Atlanta and having to not only borrow a car, but prep it, fix wiring issues in it, go pull and swap a gearbox between practice and qualifying. Even Irwindale we lost a boost coupler during competition that really hurt us.
I still vividly remember the night Chelsea walked across the pits to Vaughn’s trailer at the rumor of RTR fielding a 2nd car, and told him, “I’m gonna drive for you.”
To think that E46 got his first win. And to think He did end up at RTR just a year and a half later already made us all proud. We never stopped believing in your driving Chelsea. From all the times we had to pack it up in the trailer, to all the times you packed everyone else in the trailer… I learned so much and I’m very grateful for being allowed to be a part of the ride…. Huge Congratulations goes to @chelseadenofa and @rtrvehicles for a well deserved Championship. Looking forward to what’s coming next! #ChickenMinis #FormulaDrift #ChelseaDenofaMotorsports by @sidewayseightsix
