i understand now more than ever how parents get so emotional thinking about how their kids grow up, scrolling through photos from over the years and wondering how the time went so quickly. memories that felt like yesterday which were years ago and the memories that actually were yesterday will be years away in no time. getting to watch you grow for 16 years has been one of life’s best joys, you have shown how strong you can be and i know in time just how far that strength will get you. happy sweet 16th little sis 🥳 by @sideygram

There really is no gift that can repay my mum for the gifts she has given me over the years. The gifts of confidence, self belief, self motivation and most importantly of all caring, empathetic nature. I am sure that without my mum, my greatest strengths simply wouldn’t exist.

So whilst today we get to celebrate mum raising the bat on 50 years, I wish there was a way I could repay her, more than just a pretty kick ass gift.

Because for these 50 years, I don’t think any of them have been easy. Navigating challenges and situations I couldn’t imagine needing to deal with, often at an age where my biggest challenge was working out which party shirt to wear out to a gig.

So whilst there may not be a gift on the planet which is deserving of, or reflects the 50 years my mum has lived, I hope that the next 50 get to be a lot easier. And whilst I have no doubt the first 50 had its fair share of amazing moments, I know that there were a lot of smiles masking some tougher emotions too. For these next 50 years I hope they’re closer to what she deserves and that all the smiles are there, not just because they have to be, to be strong for my sister and I, but they’re there because she is as happy as she deserves to be.

Thank you for everything you do and the brightness you bring into everyone’s life (even if it is via some pretty crude humour) the world is brighter because you’re in it, and the people you touch are better people for it. I know how proud Nana and Pa would be

IT’S TWO PARTS. IT’S ORK AND ESTRATED.

A day that will never be replicated. Seeing the godfathers of the Melbourne Sound playing a track I made years ago with @fabricationfab to a sold out crowd at the bowl will be a memory that lives with me forever.

That tune would never have been possible without the two Melbourne legends who grew and cultivated the sound and scene that led to it. To see so many people who like me, couldn’t stop smiling getting to see these two get the set they and our city deserved. @orkestrated , 5 hours, live at the bowl.

This genuinely will go down as one of the greatest parties of all time. They and @dannyrants managed to turn the stage at one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues into prime 6am Tramp.

From hearing Adam’s voice on Night Crawler whilst confetti filled the sky to @will_sparks and @joelfletcher jumping on to drop some of Melbourne’s most iconic anthems, if you weren’t there, you simply weren’t there.

It was also the first night out for Liz and I since we got married, going to be hard to top!!! Honestly still buzzing taken in Sidney Myer Music Bowl by @sideygram
