25 years of directing TV commercials.

It wasn’t an easy journey getting here. Behind every frame, every second, is hard work - finding the story, chasing visual impact, pushing ideas, and always trying to make the work better.

And after 25 years, I’m still hungry.

Still experimenting. Still learning. Still evolving as a filmmaker.

The industry is changing faster than ever, and I don’t know how long I’ll get to keep doing this. I’m just grateful I still can.

To every client, agency, producer, production staff, artist, and collaborator who trusted me along the way - maraming salamat. None of this was ever made alone.

Story time muna. ❤️ Five years ago, Kat and I made one of the most important decisions of our lives: to leave the city behind and build our house in El Nido.

Of course sobrang daming risks and worries back then - how Kat and the kids would adjust to this big move, whether we'd find a good school for our kids (ready na kami to do homeschool ) and paano na ang career ko when all my directing work was based in Manila.

The first few years as expected were challenging. Kat took some time to find her footing. My job was affected. Some clients thought nag retire na ako. ( I wish I could!) There were a lot of moments when we wondered if we had made the right decision. But somehow, everything fell into place. When we moved in May 30, 2022, @the.earthschool.elnido opened its doors and became a HUGE part of our family’s journey in El Nido. Zen, Sky and Ocean have flourished in this amazing school. We also discovered a community of like-minded families and built strong friendships, which made me believe that a place like El Nido is only as beautiful as its community. As for my work, eventually things got back on track, and I’m grateful to still keep doing what I love with @provillstudios , a company that fully supported me from the start. 🥺

Looking back, every risk, every worry, every doubt was worth it. SOBRA.

Four years in our home. Five years since taking the leap..I’m glad that we took a risk on a different life and hoped for the best. Everything fell into its rightful place, and for that, I’m deeply grateful. by @sidmaderazo

My heart is shattered. I lost my best friend, my brother, my confidant, my colleague. He wasn’t just a huge part of my life; he was family. Our friendship is irreplaceable, and the loss is immeasurable. Rest easy Derek, I love you so much. You will forever be in my heart. by @sidmaderazo

Growing up with a very intellectual and strict father wasn’t easy especially for his only son who was failing in school and more interested in the arts. He was a lawyer, Bar topnotcher and CPA, and I was… well, me. 😅

We didn’t always see eye to eye but somehow, it all turned out ok in the end.
