If your hair gets wet but still feels dry, this is why. Porosity tells you if your hair absorbs moisture slowly, quickly, or just right. Knowing your porosity makes picking products easier because you’ll know if you need lightweight hydration, sealing + repair, or simple maintenance. Comment POROSITY for the quick check. by @sidneyshadon
If your hair used to curl… but now just hangs, this one’s for you 👇🏽 Heat damage doesn’t always mean breakage, sometimes it’s gradual texture loss, dryness, or that “stiff when straight” feel. Here’s how to start fixing it ⤵️ 1️⃣ Cleanse gently no harsh sulfates (try a moisture-based shampoo). 2️⃣ Deep treat weekly with protein moisture balance. 3️⃣ Lower the heat under 400°. 4️⃣ Trim what’s too far gone. (You can’t repair what’s melted, boo 😅) 5️⃣ Protect before styling. Always 🫶🏽 👉🏽 Save this before your next silk press day your curls will thank you later 😉 #HeatDamage #HealthyHairJourney #SilkPressCare #HairstylistTips by @sidneyshadon

New day, new hair !!! The salon chair is calling. My stylist made a custom u-part unit with pre colored bundles from @bymakiacollection and @noorhair_ by @sidneyshadon
With thicker hair, styling is about balance. Not too much product. Not too little product. Just the right products, in the right places, for the finish you want. Protection first. Smoothing next. Finish lightly. That is intentional styling, cheaa. #SilkPressTips #HairCareEducation #HealthyHairRoutine #HeatStylingTips #ProductLayering by @sidneyshadon
Before you buy another shampoo, ask yourself: What am I actually trying to solve? Trending, pretty packaging, and a good price do not tell you whether a shampoo fits your scalp, hair, or routine. Understanding comes before purchasing. Save this for your next product run, and tell me what confuses you most about shampoo. #HairCareEducation #HealthyHairRoutine #ShampooTips #HairProductKnowledge #ScalpCareTips by @sidneyshadon
A lot of people use hydrating and moisturizing like they mean the same thing, but they do not. Hydrating shampoos help attract water into the hair. Moisturizing shampoos help soften the hair and reduce moisture loss. This is why I always tell my clients to stop shopping based on the front label only. The front of the bottle may catch your attention, but the ingredient list tells you what the product is really designed to do. When you understand the difference, it becomes easier to choose a shampoo that matches what your hair actually needs. Save this before your next shampoo run. Hair Science Made Simple What shampoo topic should I break down next? #amika #sheamoisture #texturedhaircare #shampootips #hairsciencemadesimple by @sidneyshadon
Heat-damaged hair does NOT need a random product lineup. It needs a routine with a purpose. When hair has been damaged from heat, color, or over-processing, the cuticle can become rougher and more lifted. That is why the hair may feel dry, stiff, dull, frizzy, or harder to manage. Now here is the honest part: This routine does not reverse heat damage. Once the hair structure is damaged, a product cannot magically make it brand new again. But the right routine can help support the hair you still have so it feels softer, smoother, more moisturized, and easier to manage. That is the difference between just using products and actually understanding why you are using them. Save this if your hair feels dry, weak, overworked, or heat damaged. Not sponsored just professional product education based on in-salon use. #redkenobsessed #heatdamage #haircare by @sidneyshadon
Your heat damaged hair still deserves care. A lot of people give up on their hair once they notice the curls aren’t bouncing back the same, but this is actually when your routine matters the most. The focus should be: hydration bond support gentle cleansing smoothing the cuticle reducing breakage staying consistent Every wash day should be helping the hair feel softer, stronger, and more manageable while you decide what needs to be cut over time. Heat damage is not a one wash fix, but the right routine can help you stop making it worse. #heatdamage #heatdamageroutine #healthyhair by @sidneyshadon
Everybody wants to go lighter until the hair starts asking for a break 😭 Your dream color may take more than one appointment and that’s okay. When it comes to bleach, placement matters, patience matters, and hair health matters most. Pretty color is cute, but healthy color is the real flex. by @sidneyshadon
That curl chart is a starting label for how your hair looks, not a diagnosis for what it needs. Your routine is built on the real checklist: porosity, density, strand thickness, damage level, and your climate or hard water. Use curl type for styling inspo, not to copy somebody else’s product list. by @sidneyshadon
Honestly! I like it 🤷🏽‍♀️, And please don’t forget the warranty because I forgot it on my last dryer and I’m still mad. by @sidneyshadon
