As the world and so many of the systems around us continue to feel unstable, I’ve found myself searching for peace through art. The more I sit with it, the more I believe that art is one of the few things that remains steady in collapse. Art helps us connect with ourselves, with each other, and with truth. It gives us somewhere to place our grief, our joy, our fear, our hope, and our imagination. To me, choosing to create, reflect, and gather through art is also a way of holding onto what feels human and meaningful, even when things around us feel uncertain.

This perspective has motivated me to start curating my own art exhibits. My goal is not just to throw events where people look at art and leave. I want to create spaces where people connect, reflect, and engage with one another through art. As an emerging IP attorney I also care deeply about creating avenues for artists to be compensated for their work.

This first event was such a blessing from God. The fact that we sold 4 paintings speaks to the energy that was in the room, and I am so excited for what is ahead!!

Thank you to the four incredible artists who trusted me and made the night what it was. Your work moved people, created conversation, and brought this vision to life.

Thank you to @edenfaran for your support and your beautiful photography. You really captured the energy of the night, and I’m so grateful for you.

Thank you to @littleravengallery for being so kind and helpful as I stepped into this for the first time. Your support meant so much to me and the space was perfect.

None of this has felt like work. It has felt joyful and meaningful. I’m so grateful to be stepping into this new chapter. If you’re an artist and feel connected to this kind of a space feel free to reach out!

God is good.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds. — Philippians 4:7 taken in San Francisco, California by @sidneywri

So grateful to have spent the past week in Venice learning from the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, In Minor Keys. This was my first Venice Biennale, and experiencing an exhibition envisioned by Koyo Kouoh, the first African woman appointed to curate the Biennale Arte, made it especially meaningful. Her vision and legacy were present throughout this powerful exhibition, and I’m excited to continue studying her work and the ideas she championed.

I continue to find myself drawn to work that teaches, inspires, challenges the way we understand the world, offers new perspectives, imagines better ways of living, and reminds us of the possibility of hope. I left Venice feeling incredibly inspired, with so many new ideas for my own curatorial practice and the spaces I hope to create through it. I’m excited to continue my education through the ideas, artists, and questions I encountered here, and I feel very blessed that I get to keep learning🤍 taken in Italy by @sidneywri
