the summer i turned 24🫶🏻
~
i’m feeling a bit sentimental about my birthday this year. i look back at turning 23, going about my life as if i was doing “okay” when truthfully, i was the far opposite. i was lost and just trying to survive.

it’s been a daunting and challenging year. 23 was a year of growth. a year of change. a year of developing. a year of putting myself first. a year of gaining confidence. a year of finding the love of living.

it was a year of learning that sometimes, growing means outgrowing the things, people, and versions of yourself that once felt so familiar. a year of realizing that i am capable of handling more than i ever thought i could, and that choosing myself isn’t selfish.

23 taught me that life doesn’t always go according to the plans you make for yourself, but that doesn’t mean the path you end up on is any less beautiful. i’ve learned to appreciate where i am, even when it isn’t where i thought i’d be. i’ve learned to give myself grace for the person i was while becoming someone i’m proud to be.

so here’s to 24. to continuing to grow, to choosing myself, to finding joy in the little things, and to loving the life i’m building🤍 #090902 by @sidsparta
