my last youth worlds in arco 🇮🇹🥹

I had a big dream to make finals at youth worlds, something I thought about almost every day for the last year, wavering between doubt and belief, hope and hesitation...

I finished with P12 - I expected to feel disappointed by the result but in truth I've never felt more satisfied and fufilled. I may not have reached my big goal but I know that I have not failed in the slightest. there were a few mistakes in my climbing but there was also so much joy, freedom, and love for my sport... maybe that's what I was chasing all along.

thank you to the canadian team and coaches, you are my family. attending 5 consecutive youth worlds with you all and seeing this team grow has been the ultimate privilege - these memories will last forever <3

thank you to my parents for always being my biggest supporters (and continually putting up with our regretful lack of funding) and to coach @rapidoug for sticking by me all this time. thanks to my sponsor @madrockcanada for the support.

how am I already aging out of youth, it went by so fast 🥲
I guess senior circuit is waiting...

youth worlds '25 🇫🇮
(prepare for long caption lol)

my goal in boulder was to make semis which I was so psyched to do in a strong field. in semis I felt free of my own expectations and had one of the best rounds of my life. (still working on the slab lock in dw) I enjoyed every second on the mats which led to my best ever result P10!! to think that finals was within reach is pretty insane too.

in lead a very early and unfortunate slip on my first qualies route kept me from showing my best. speed was not the fastest it could have been and I finished 0.001 out of finals. canadian record will have to wait (AGAIN).

last year I left youth worlds in china with so many regrets and my one hope was not to repeat that again. although it wasn't perfect, I am leaving with no regrets this time around. just a whole lot of motivation and so many good memories. for the first time in a while, I really felt like I belonged here, on this stage.

it was such a privilege to watch all my strong friends compete on the world stage once again. I am so inspired by you all. 🫂

the biggest thank yous to my family, coaches, and teammates. this month spent in europe was filled with good times and so much learning. here's to many more river dips, board games at the library, shrek face masks, unhinged trading tactics, and hotel bathroom haircuts. let's do it again next year ❤️‍🩹

my (probably) last youth nationals in the same two gyms as my first youth nats. a lot has changed since then but in a lot of ways it felt just like it did in 2022, when 13 year old si was just beginning to glimpse the life she would come to cherish. (holy sappy omg)

so so stoked to be competing alongside @sofiagsmalee @climbing_animals__avery and @ashleyy_kam at my last ywch this summer 🇮🇹

and grateful that I got to share this nationals with @rowanshook.climbs @kenzieklimbs @cassie_crimps @audreyt.climbs and ofc coach @rapidoug. proud of our @coastalclimbingcentre team!!

thanks to mom and dad for getting me here and for being canada's best comp volunteers.
thanks to @madrockcanada for being supportive as always. and thanks setters for challenging us!

the level in canada is rising and i'm so inspired by the people around me, who i am lucky to call my friends. i'll be stronger for the next one, that's a promise. thanks to everyone who supported me this comp 🙇🏻‍♀️

a very special PB 7.909 🔔

the canadian women's record has sat at 7.99 since the tokyo 2020 olympics. I've been close for a while and knew that I wanted to be the one to break it. this goal has been a huge mental battle so it was a relief to finally get it done this weekend.
--> my record barely lasted 2 minutes before @climbing_animals__avery lowered it again 😝 but there's no one else I'd rather lose my record to than my best friend. AVERY YOU'RE MY HERO 🫶
with my sub 8 goal checked off, it's finally time to retire from speed and focus on boulder and lead!

thanks to @christymonagas my speed coach since day one and to @logan.geisler1 for stepping up for the rock wall team. and to my parents ofc.

edmonton in no particular order:
golf carts, go karts, magpies, nacs lead finals, slippy speed wall, sketchy warm up zones, vietnamese food. nothing better than that ❤️

more summer adventures to come ✨️

2025 youth nats was one to remember 🫶

no triple triple crown for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ a bit of an obsession i've had since the start of the season but I know the real goals for this season are for this summer in finland 🇫🇮

big big congrats to @brooke_white.4 for your first national title! you so deserve it ❤️
congrats also to @sofiecking riley.doherty11 and @teal_climbs happy to share the podium with these crushers!
