yesterday i turned 30!! 🎉🎈i spent the day reflecting on how absolutely amazing the last decade has been. i wish i could go back and tell 20 year old sierra (who didn’t even have plans to leave her small idaho hometown) everything she was capable of & everything the world had in store for her. i’m so thankful for everyone with whom i’ve crossed paths over the past decade, especially those who saw my potential before i even saw it myself. i cannot wait to see what i will learn and do in the next ten years. bring it on, 30!!! 🥳💕

p.s. i had to spend my birthday working but was so glad i still had a little moment at the end of the night to blow out candles on this beautiful bouquet cake @allyorrrr surprised me with 🥹🫶 by @sierrasandison

From a “secret identity” as Buster Bronco to her role as a Design Engineer at Trademark Creative Studio, Sierra Sandison (’22, Mechanical Engineering) has always found creative ways to combine engineering, creativity, and Bronco spirit.

“Boise State helped me discover that engineering could be creative… I didn’t have to choose between technical problem-solving and artistic expression. That realization shaped everything I’ve done since."

Boise State left a lasting impact on Sierra, and she’s committed to paying it forward:

“Boise State shaped who I am today. It gave me the education, mentorship, and opportunities I needed to build a career I love… I want to do my part to keep Boise State moving forward.”

Now, as a member of the BOLD Committee (Broncos of the Last Decade), Sierra is committed to helping recent alumni stay connected:

“I hope BOLD programming helps recent alumni feel like they are still part of the Boise State community… that transition into post-college life can feel uncertain and isolating at times… I want BOLD to offer opportunities for connection, mentorship, and personal growth… helping alumni feel rooted in the Bronco family and excited about what’s next.”

Thank you, Sierra, for your creativity, energy, and commitment to the Bronco community! 💙🧡

A new favorite for the books 🦒✨

This custom-painted, multi-layered monument for our friends at @giraffelaughelc blends acrylic, wood, and metal into a playful, dimensional design—one that’s as inspiring and uplifting as the incredible work they do every day.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look as our team brings it to life, from fabrication to installation, before it started welcoming parents and students to their beautiful new space.

Next time you’re cruising down Orchard, keep an eye out for this cheerful giraffe—you can’t miss it!

In 2016, I watched a YouTube video about @meow__wolf and the House of Eternal Return. I immediately thought “wow, how do I become the kind of artist that makes THAT kind of stuff?” and then quickly switched my major to Mechanical Engineering and returned to school full time.

Flash forward, my engineering degree has led me to work for inventor of the Furby, launch the fidget slug craze while running a pink 3D printer army out of my garage, design a viral disco ball fashion collection, work as a design engineer at @trademarkcreativestudio where I get to bring art to life full time, and 🥁FINALLY🥁 get to work alongside @thecolossalcollective to create something for MEOW WOLF!!!

Don’t miss the Flicker Worm Migration Phenomenally both at @convergencestation & @omegamartusa this summer, & get a peek of the radiant leviathan flicker worm mama 😍🌀🫟🐛 taken in Meow Wolf Denver by @sierrasandison

I said “F**K YESSSSS!!!!!” 💍🥂🤍🥹‼️🎉🍾

I was definitely not expecting a ski proposal because I thought pulling that off during a busy day on the mountain would be nearly impossible. Somehow, Matt pulled off the most beautiful surprise at the top of this bootpack, complete with rose petals, champagne, an officially published geocache, and the perfect sunset (with help from @luketokunaga & weeks of obsessively stalking the weather app for ideal sunset conditions). It was a PERFECT FAIRYTALE & I’m soooo excited to hang out with @matt_locher for THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!! 🤍❄️💍 taken in Bogus Basin Ski Resort by @sierrasandison
