Be Brave, Go Bold! When it came to designing our farmhouse, one thing became crystal clear: bold decisions make the biggest impact. 🎨 Whether it was the deep, moody tones we chose for the walls or the mix of textures we layered throughout, every detail felt like a leap of faith—and it paid off! Sometimes, you’ve just got to listen to your gut. There’s a fine line between pushing boundaries and overthinking. I’m so glad we trusted ourselves and went for it because I am OBSESSED with the final result. Tune in to Grand Designs tonight at 8 PM to see how it all turned out! I hope it inspires you to take a design risk or two. After all, the best spaces are the ones that feel authentically you. #BoldDesign #FarmhouseLove #SiestaHome by @siesta.home
Hi, I’m Joh, designer, colour-lover, ex Winter Olympian and first one on the dance floor! I’m also a mum to two gorgeous kids, a very energetic kelpie, and married to a builder who keeps our family renovations rolling along. I live in denim, keep things real, and I’m passionate about creating spaces that feel just right full of light, colour, warmth and personality. I’m all about making bold choices in life and in design. Whether it’s a rich green kitchen, a pink ceiling, or knocking down a wall to bring more joy into your everyday, I believe your home should reflect who you are and how you live. I’ve got a soft spot for old homes, a love of texture, and a practical eye for layouts that make family life flow. For me, good design isn’t about perfection it’s about creating spaces that feel lived-in, loved, and ready for a crowd. When I’m not designing, you’ll find me chasing the kids, dancing in the kitchen, or planning our next family adventure. I believe in homes that are made for living and I’d love to help you make yours a happy one. by @siesta.home

Created for artist @kirstenjacksonarthouse and @kirstenjackson_gallery - this kitchen by @siesta.home was always going to embrace colour 🧡 The Northbridge Peach Terracotta Look Subway Tile wraps around the kitchen walls, creating a soft peach backdrop for the buttery yellow cabinetry, pale stone benchtops and natural timber details. Its subtle tonal variation adds another layer of colour without competing with the artwork and brighter styling throughout the space. We especially love the decision to take the tile beyond a traditional splashback, turning it into part of the room’s overall palette and giving the kitchen its distinctive peachy glow ✨ Interior Design: @siesta.home Styling: @siesta.home @lisa.hunter.interiors Build: @corrprojects Photography: @stephanie_rooney by @siesta.home

MATCHY-MATCHY? WE’RE BREAKING UP! Joh from @siesta.home has a few thoughts on making a house feel like home… Start with the art. When in doubt, add greenery. Stop trying to make everything match. Put art where you least expect it. Choose pieces with a story. And yes… the laundry deserves art too. Her golden rule? “How do you want to feel in this room?” We’ll be thinking about that one. The very first Droply Edit with Joh is here ~ a little conversation about art, interiors and creating a home that feels like you. Save it. Steal a few ideas. And go put some art in the laundry! #smallartbigimpact #australianart #australianinteriors #artandinteriors #interiorstyling by @siesta.home
Furniture is never just furniture. It’s the piece that grounds a room, brings in texture, creates a little moment and makes a house feel like home. We love mixing old with new, soft with structured and beautiful pieces that feel collected rather than overly styled. Because the best spaces should feel effortless, lived in and very much you. Looking for the right pieces for your space? Let’s create a room that feels like you. #SiestaHome #FurnitureStyling #InteriorStyling #CollectedInteriors #AustralianInteriors HomeStylingInteriorDesign Furniture by @siesta.home
A little re-intro and thanks for following along. Hi I'm Steph, I'm an interiors and product photographer living in Geelong and shooting across Melbourne. I shoot interiors and also for homewares and furniture brands. I also create content at home for brands that love a red brick wall and some vintage furniture. I love working alongside interior designers, stylists and homewares makers to create imagery that feels energetic, inviting, and actually makes you want to be in the room - that's always the goal. When I'm not behind the camera, I'm usually outside with our Kelpie Ralph and our two girls. We love camping and taking it slow when we can! I'd love to hear about your space or brand - drop a comment or send me a DM. Steph x by @siesta.home

Sometimes the best part of my job is stepping away from the computer and seeing beautiful design in real life. Yesterday I spent the day with Globewest and Laminex in Melbourne, exploring their latest collections, discovering new finishes and soaking up plenty of inspiration. As a stylist, days like these are so important. Seeing the craftsmanship up close, feeling the textures and experiencing the pieces in person is where so much inspiration comes from. It's what helps me create homes that feel layered, considered and truly personal. And yes... if you spot the one person wearing colour amongst 250 designers and stylists... that's me. 😂 I came home with a camera roll full of inspiration and a new favourite chair that I absolutely can't stop thinking about. Now to figure out how to squeeze it into the house... 🤍 Which piece would you be taking home? by @siesta.home
Material selections for your new build or renovation are about so much more than choosing pretty things. The reality is that every selection affects the next one. A floor tile changes how a cabinet colour looks. A paint colour can completely alter the feel of a room. A benchtop can make or break the whole palette. My role isn't just to help clients choose beautiful finishes, it's to create a home where everything feels connected. It's these behind-the-scenes decisions that make the biggest difference in the finished result. #interiordesigninspiration #interiordesignideas #interiordesignlovers #interiordesigninspo #interiordesigner #livingroom #furnituredesign #interiordesign #furniture #interiordecor #interiors #interiorinspo #homedecor #decor #interiordetails #interiorstyling #interior #interiordesigners #interiorinspiration #interiorstyle #homedesign #instadecor #interiorlovers #interiordesigns #designinspo #instadesign by @siesta.home
One thing that surprises almost every client... How much grout can change a tile. Honestly, it's one of those decisions that people don't really think about until we're sitting there with the tile samples spread across the table. The funny thing is, you can choose the exact same tile, but by simply changing the grout colour, it can create a completely different feel. A grout that blends in will make the tile feel softer and more seamless. A contrasting grout will make every tile stand out and become more of a feature. Neither is wrong, it just comes down to the look you're trying to create. These are the kinds of decisions that can feel overwhelming when you're building or renovating. On their own, they seem so small... but once you add tiles, flooring, paint, stone, cabinetry, lighting and tapware together, it's a lot. That's why I love what I do. I get to guide my clients through all of those little decisions, explain why something works, and help them feel confident that everything will come together beautifully. by @siesta.home
