Educational content warning!

Did you know that cranes live on most continents, with the exception of Antarctica and South America? Well now you know.

This time of the year there are literally thousands of cranes nearby where I live (65 north). They’re hanging out on the fields and swamps in a daytime. And when the evening comes they fly to the seaside.

So I went to photograph them yesterday and photographed these shots. It was getting dark already so I had to made lots of compromises with camera settings. No tripod (they flew fast) so I tried different settings with ISO and shutter speeds. These are what I got.

The watch of the show: Citizen Nighthawk on a @sifustraps ribbon strap. These straps are perfect with every watch. And oh my I love the case and dial of the Nighty!

Here’s my little step by step guide on @sifustraps straps. These are my favorite nylon straps by far and I’ve been wearing them for years. They’re very secure, comfortable, made in the USA and only $16 a pop. Lots of colors with both pvd black and brushed stainless hardware options.

You’ll notice the odd buckle placement. This is what makes these straps different in how they secure.

First is to pass the long end through the short end with the keeper loop.

Once you’ve done that, you can slip your wrist into the strap, and pull the long end tight. The keeper will end up somewhere near the bottom lugs on your wrist.

At this point you can slip the long end through the buckle, and find the right adjustment hole for the tang.

After that it’s a matter of passing the tail end of the long side through the two keepers on the top side of the watch and doubling over to tuck in any excess.

The legendary @cwcwatch SBS (Special boat service) has just recently become an absolute favorite piece in my collection. It’s blacked out case, amazing lume and fixed bars have got me in a stranglehold. Never have I bought a watch and loved it so much, considered buying another in a different finish or color. The titanium quartz diver has me seriously interested. I wonder if they’ll come out with a date version before my birthday in November? 🤞🏻

As always being secured to my wrist by a @sifustraps single pass is definitely the move.
