Ok, so this happened… WE WON AN EMMY!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Outstanding Cinematography For A Reality Programme for the Traitors, two years in a row! 🤯🥹🥹🥹🥳🥳🥳

The competition this year was incredibly tough and I was genuinely shocked when we won. They only give you 30 seconds to say your acceptance speech which frankly is not enough time, especially when you’re not expecting it, so I wanted to take a moment now to say some of what I’d wanted to say before I completely melted on that stage… to be totally honest, I was fighting back the tears! 🥹

Shooting the Traitors relies massively on teamwork and collaboration. Getting to work with the other departments is always a privilege and I’m always massively impressed by what they create, so it was so exciting to see some of them also win Emmys for Production Design, Costume (@samspector) and Editing. As well as Best Director for @benarchard and Best Host for @alancummingreally, in total we took home 6 Emmys, it truly was an incredible night!

I’d like to thank the entire production team, headed up by @gemma_scholes and @lynettewr who work so tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the show on the road, hats off to you all! And also huge thanks to our amazing team of genius execs at Studio Lambert headed up by @mikecotton18 @sarahfay19 @samwrj @rosiefranks and the team at @NBCuniversal (Sharon Vuong, Stephen Mann, Frances Berwick and Rachel Smith) who keep the show so exciting to work on with all the twists and turns, it’s truly incredible!

Last but by no means least, I’d like to thank the entire camera team, which often totals almost 30 people, from the AC’s, to specialist camera ops, to the drone and jib teams, the PSC ops, right the way up to my fellow DoP Matt Wright . Most of these people have been with us since the very first episode on series 1, and it’s been an honour and a privilege to work with a team that is so dedicated and creative, as well as just being a lovely bunch of human beings. As always, I’m eternally grateful for everything they bring to the table and this award is truly deserved of them all! #winners

WOW!!! The last 10 days have been an absolute whirlwind. A promo trip to LA for the @televisionacad @theemmys.tv (more on that to follow), final tech prep for the upcoming @thetraitorsukofficial and @thetraitorsus series, being interviewed by the @the__asc, my daughter’s 10th birthday! (🥹), a 10k fun run courtesy of @inflatable.5k and going to the @bafta awards and #winning the Entertainment Craft Team Award for the Celebrity Traitors 🤯🤯🤯🥳🥳🥳🥹🥹🥹

I’m still pinching myself 😆

To be honest my feet haven’t touched the ground but wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that contributed to the craft team award. I’m always in awe of all the other departments on the show, so to be grouped in with them was an absolute honour and a privilege!!! I’ve also gotta shout out my team of course, the camera department, for always bringing a smile to work and constantly delivering beutiful images all while keeping one eye and an ear focused on the story lines, hats off to you all!

Also huge thanks to all the team at @studiolambert and last but not least these absolute legends @mikecotton18 @sarahfay19 @gemma_scholes @lynettewr @samwrj @rosiefranks @lewietj @mattwrightdop @benarchard

PS… ‘competition winner!’

It’s been a week since we won our Emmy for Best Cinematography and the massive high I’ve been on has been continued today as I found out the show has also won Outstanding Reality Competition Show, making it a clean sweep, 5 out of 5!

I’ve done this personally face to face many times but I wanted to take a moment to thank our amazing team of camera operators and specialist camera operators one more time, many of whom have been with us since the very first episode, and also my long time collaborator and fellow DOP on the show, @mattwrightdop. Last but not least our team of incredible AC’s who are hugely important to our team and in fact contributed massively to this win!

I genuinely didn’t think we would win this amazing award, and so I hadn’t rehearsed my speech before we got on that stage, which was a school boy error! When they started playing the ‘get off the stage music’ I panicked, my hand was shaking so much that I couldn’t read the rest of the speech I’d written on my phone and I forgot to thank some of the most important people on the team! So I want to also take this opportunity to thank Series Director and fellow Emmy Winner @benarchard for having me along for the ride, it’s been amazing! And also @gemma_scholes and Lyenett Woods-Reynolds and the whole production team who work so tirelessly behind the scenes to look after us all and make sure the production runs smoothly so we can get the footage we get. Also huge thanks to the Lighting and Art Departments for helping to make everything look so beautiful! 😍
