It was an honor and a joy to work with the thoughtful and skilled @utkgalleries team on 𝑨𝒓𝒕, 𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚: 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒎, an exhibition showcasing artists represented in the 2026 book authored by University of Tennessee Associate Professor Emeritus of Art History, Dr. Timothy Hiles.

Over the past few months, we focused on activating an accessible, digital presence for this show on the @bloombergconnects app. Check it out! (Slide 4).

Huge congratulations to my mentors & friends on the gallery team, to Dr. Hiles, and all the amaaaaaaazing artists. The exhibition and programming have been spectacular, and I’m so glad to have been involved. ❤️

Being called in by Sherridan Smee (@sherridan721) to curate a community art show was such a joy, especially because it showcased the awesome affordable housing-centered work of Renaissance Creations (@rencreations_knox )

To showcase the construction team’s work on this East Knoxville home, we invited artists local to the area to display their work.

Part of this house’s history is that it was home to a family of artists in the 1950s & 80s. Art is also part of its future, as one of the future residents is an artist. The rebirth of this house is also the rebirth of artistic expression. This event was a celebration of the creativity of Renaissance Creations & the creativity of the community.

Thank you to the artists: Margo Miller, Xavier Maurice, Ty Murray, and Theophilus (Alan) M. Jones. An extra thank you to Ty for lending a hand in locating artists and to Sherridan for her work as Director of Operations. by @sight__seek

Thank you for intertwining in this space— an act that we participated in together, hand in hand! Let’s nurture the future we hoped for together ❤️‍🔥

A special thanks to @museum_of_infinite_outcomes for teaching us how to screenprint, and for asking us to ˚⋆꩜remember ꩜⋆˚

Another special thanks to @unionavebooks for representing their local bookstore business by bringing copies of @robinwallkimmerer’s “The Serviceberry”

To the community of dreamers + lovers + builders + resistors, I hope to see you soon. Oh, how I love you!

Happy First Friday!

Up close with the artists represented in 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒆 (part two).

⟢⟡12 artists living in different parts of the US are gathered here to propose sustainable worlds where reciprocity is at the forefront of our relationships to each other and the Earth. Can we think of kinship, not as a biological fact, but as a social and cultural matter? When we spin circles of belonging that reach across time and space, we become inextricably tied to one another; so much so that losing our sense of purpose becomes impossible.
