I had always struggled to capture this place. I tend to want to fit too much in the picture - there’s a lot to fit, after all. What I love about this one is that it captures the feeling of walking through the gardens. It has the layers, the exotic nature of the landscape, the isolated feeling of being here alone. And the light was perfect. by @sights.with.steen

Maybe it’s because us city dwellers just don’t see it every day, but watching that last moment (or first) of light on sheer rock always feels a bit magical. The reconciliation of this brutal phenomenon with the soft glow of orange light happens for maybe a few minutes before the shadows overtake it and everything becomes kind of flat and dark. Out of everything there was to see in this moment, I chose to capture this. It’s what matters to me. by @sights.with.steen

This place struck a divine fear in me that few places even could. Is it the height of the sheer cliffs? The narrowness of the canyon? I think it’s both. It feels aggressive where other big landscapes feel far away, almost calming. by @sights.with.steen
