Feeling over the moon to have been a part of @endlesslovecreative yesterday ! I had the best time so the biggest thank you to Char, @jenny.kim.smith , @kerry_rach and @natalierosewilde for such a wonderful day, as well as @themowbray @events_at_victoria - and to everyone who came along to say hello and pick up some spoon essentials 🥄

My cup is full as they say 🍺 by @signalgoods

I’ve had a few people ask recently whether I use a router/CNC, especially for the trays.
Alas I’m more of an Edward scissorhands & these are the various chisels and gouges I use (that being said if anyone wants to give me one I’d never say no - would also gratefully accept a lathe 👍) by @signalgoods

Babooshka x Ta

Thank you to @joelwinterdesign for putting it all together, @theonewiththepigeon for keeping us fed & watered, the lovely @fnceramics @thursday.makes @made_by_scavenger & @arb_carpentry for the ace company (/letting me hide inside in the warm) & everyone who came by to see us 🫡 by @signalgoods

Me + my spoons are heading up and down the uk 🚗

@morstudio.uk in North Yorkshire, @shop.withnoname in Edinburgh, @endlesslovecreative in Sheffield + Newcastle, @events_at_victoria in Sheffield and @toast in London📍(with some more on the way ‼️)

So if you want to pick up some Christmas spoons in person you can pop along to any of these or take a look at the stockists on my website 🎁🥄 by @signalgoods

Here are 3 more independent brands coming to our concept store next week.

I’m hosting a pop up shop with Han Bourn to champion independent brands on the 4th-8th November.

In the run up to the event, we’ll be sharing more about each brands and why we love them.

It’s been a weekend of trialling packaging with the help of my printer that seems determined to push me over the edge 🖨️

Tomorrow I’m sending up almost all my stock to Edinburgh for @han.bourn + @olivia_taylor_design ‘s @shop.withnoname pop-up! I’m gutted not to be able to make it up to see what they create so if you’re there 4-8th November please pop along!

First delivery of spice spoons are off to @ionaceramics so if you’ve been waiting for a restock they’re on their way! and a perfectly curated selection by Kirsty will be at @a_still_life_crathorne in time for her Christmas launch at the beginning of November.

Carving sets are now good to go, although I’m sure I’ll be tweaking the packaging whilst they’re in stock because I’m annoying - there aren’t many though so be speedy if you’re a Christmas planner 🎁 by @signalgoods

There’s loadsss of fab information on techniques in books + online but when I started I couldn’t

1. get to grips with a western spoon hook - don’t know it’s because I’m weak but the @michihamono.kk style tools saved me a lot of trouble
2. keep things sharp - sharpening is a whole world of its own and I ended up with 5 whetstones / 3 diamond stones / 4 strops and still no clue what I was doing
3. find the right wood and cut it down to size - I’d go through peoples skips and steal construction timber and then try and cut it down in my room using a hacksaw - it didn’t work very well

So I’ve put together an Ella approved kit ✅ using @michihamono.kk ‘s tools and @natashacraig_woodworker ‘s wood finishes, and I’ve chosen an eating spoon blank as the first project - it covers all the foundational skills but leaves enough room that you can make it your own.

‼️I’m spending the next couple of weeks sorting out the packaging and instructions but they’re available for preorder now - then they’ll be sent out to you asap ‼️ There are only 10 available but I’ve also got some of my 10/10 favourite knives on there too 😎 by @signalgoods

Had a couple of weeks of being here + there + everywhere

New dyers spoons have been sent out to @thenaturaldyeworks, as well as an assortment of coffee scoops for @foragerprovisions (featuring my first go at using milk paint) 🎨

Visits to @a_still_life_crathorne where you’ll be able to find some of my work following the Christmas launch on the 4th November, as well as @morstudio.uk for their GATHER exhibition.

Helping @studiosophie_uk with @mastersofcrafthair ‘s amazing new renovation, as well as working on some bits for @han.bourn + @olivia_taylor_design ‘s pop-up, CURATE @shop.withnoname 4-8th November.

‼️ In other exciting news, if you’ve been waiting on carving kit updates - the tools have arrived in the UK! You can preorder them now with more photos coming soooooon (they’re all tools I used to get started so they have the Ella guarantee) ‼️ by @signalgoods

We’re so excited to be hosting a pop-up concept store at @shop.withnoname in Edinburgh from 4th–8th November 🤎

Hannah and Olivia have curated a special selection of some of their favourite independent brands, bringing them together in store alongside their own jewellery for five days of independent shopping.

Come along and shop independent this Christmas✨
