Been planting seeds for awhile now, feels good to begin to harvest this morning.
Before the reward, there must be labor.

[ September 1 • Full Circle ]

I say this often, I mean it every time:
It’s easy to find God in September.
In it’s breeze,
In it’s harvest,
In the bite of a freshly picked apple - bitter, yet sweet.

. . . I remember the September I found God, I began finding myself, forgave myself, loved ‘Nicole’ back to life.

Lately I’ve been working to bring that story - my story; as well as the stories and journeys of beautiful souls I have the pleasure of encountering, learning, growing and healing with, to the surface to share with the world.
All of our journeys have a communality of connectivity.
Though our individual obstacles and lessons may not always mirror each other’s, we are literal mirrors of one another.

That’s apart of why I am here. On this mat, to connect with y’all. Pulling up everywhere I’m invited ALL month, to connect with y’all (if you know me, you know how rare that is, lol).

. . . September is different. I’ve dedicated rebirths to it, long ago.
I’m just here to bloom once more. To witness the blessings. For me. For you. Us, as a whole.

I will forever travel the world & find Waterfalls.
Especially the ones that can be climbed. Felt. Experienced. 💕✨🦋

Gentle reminder: Take a walk in nature, go find the wild things, BE the wild thing.

More importantly, don’t forget who you are, especially in these days and times.
Hold true to you.
Nurture your uniqueness.
Exist.

[Reflective thoughts]
. . . Somewhere between driving from Jersey to the South, with my brothers chatting, laughing, debating nonsense, switching music and falling asleep on eachother; I keep thinking about my grandmother and her siblings.

We’re headed down to lay Uncle Leroy to rest.
Her last brother.

And I’ve been thinking less about death itself and more about what it means to have shared that much LIFE with somebody.

More specifically: I keep thinking about my grandmother and Uncle Leroy as siblings, but also as friends. I can still hear pieces of their conversations in my head. The laughing, the serious talks, the family business, the kind of back-and-forth that only comes from knowing somebody for decades.

I know that kind of friendship through my own brothers.
Through Jhaad. Tynè. James. Close Kin.
Knee deep, in life, together.
There are people who know your history because you told it to them, and then there are people who were standing somewhere in it with you. It’s different.

My grandmother is now the oldest sibling, with five of them left.
I pray they use that time well.
Not dramatically.
Just well.
Call each other about foolishness.
Stay on the phone.
Visit.
Laugh.
Ask the question you could’ve easily assumed the answer to.
May they continue exploring and living and loving through life together.

And as I ride beside my own brothers, celebrating another year of my oldest brother’s life, I’m grateful for the friendship inside of our family too.

For people who can remember my beginning and still have a front-row seat to who I’m becoming.

For more roads.
More birthdays.
More conversations.
More stories we haven’t lived yet.

Uncle Leroy, you’re with us. 💕✨🦋 by @signednik

Life gets richer when your capacity does.
More room for joy.
More appetite for experience.
More discernment about what deserves your energy.

Lately life has been full of good conversations,
new scenery,
familiar laughter,
bomb ass food,
And beautiful moments.

There is something powerful about becoming more available for your own life.
More present.
More curious.
More willing to follow what feels expansive.
I am always expanding.
Peace.

The soul may live within us, but it is always in conversation with what surrounds us.
. . . The rooms we find ourselves in.
. . . The relationships where we meet ourselves in some of our most vulnerable moments.
. . . The pace of everyday life, and whether it leaves us any room to pause.

In excavating my past, I somehow dug my way back into the present.
I put the tools down and let myself simply exist.

These are a few questions I ask myself daily:
What kind of life am I creating around the woman I am becoming?
Does it sustain her?
Does it honor her body?
Does it make room for her joy?
Does it allow her to be held, too?

Excavating my soul has also required me to look beyond what happened and study what it kept creating and what it may still be creating.
The habits.
The fears.
The ways I learned to overfunction, overthink, over give and call it love because I had not yet experienced care without depletion attached.

And in response, I stand firm in this inner knowing:
Wellness cannot be something we reach for only in moments of illness, dysfunction or crisis.
It has to be woven through the whole of how we live.

So I spend my days cultivating the conditions where my whole self can feel safe, experience aligned relationships, remain present, create joy and practice peace.

Weaving WHOLElistic wellness into the way I live, along the way.

This is just the witnessing.
Even if, only for a moment.

[ Celebrate My Momma, with me ✨🎈]

There are some relationships that can’t be summed up in words.
They carry history, tenderness, distance, memory, hope, and love all at once.
Ours is one of them.
And still, today, what rises first in me is Gratitude that you are HERE, that you made it through what you’ve made it through, and that I get to witness the woman you are still becoming - because I do want to know her. I want to know you.

You are more than one chapter.
More than one season.
More than one hard thing.
And I want to take this moment to honor your life, your strength, your growth, and the beauty that still lives in you.

A mother’s life leaves fingerprints.
In lessons.
In absence.
In presence.
In the ways love is given, and in the ways it keeps trying to find its way back home.
. . . Yet, no matter how layered life can be, I still celebrate you with sincerity, with grace, and with love.

I pray this next year meets you gently. I pray it brings you peace that sits deep, joy that feels honest, softness you don’t have to earn, and love that reaches you in the ways you need most. You deserve to be celebrated, not just for what you do, but for who you are.
I pray I get to bare witness to it, to teach myself that it is true for me as well.

HAPPY BEARTHDAY MOM! ✨🦋🎈🎁✨💕
I love you, deeply.
P.S: I save these random pictures of you, where you seem to be experiencing joy, because I love seeing you happy. by @signednik

[The Residency • S2:E1]

The camera got the haze.
I’ve always got the vision.

Some nights don’t give you more to say… they give you more to see.
And once you see it, you can’t unsee it: especially within yourself.

That was Wednesday Night.
I’ll always want to bare witness to Moving Anthologies
. . . You just had to be there.
Next Month, BE THERE. 😏✨

Celebrating the life of one of the most amazing women, in my life.

She raised me like I was her own and modeled what it looks like to have grit with grace. I watched her get up, handle what needed to be handled, hold responsibility, and still find a way to laugh, to love, to keep going.
As I grow into my own Womanhood, I see her fingerprints within my values: the way I pour into others, the way I refuse to fold, the way I believe I can create a life I’m proud of. That didn’t come from nowhere. It came from watching Aunt Sabrina be who she is, consistently.
Today we’re honoring that. Honoring her life, her lessons, her presence, and the way her story shaped mine in ways I’m still uncovering. Sixty years around the sun, and I’m grateful I get to call this powerhouse of a woman my aunt.
Happy 60th birthday, Aunt Sabrina. I love you deeply. 🤎
