I have butterfliesssss and have been sitting with how to make this post for weeks now. But I think I finally have the wordsss.

Three years ago, I moved from VA to BK and began my role as Weeksville’s Program Manager. What I didn’t know then was how deeply I would grow attached to the people, the place, and the community that walked through those doors every day. Weeksville reminds me that cultural work is, at its heart, about creating space for people to gather, imagine, and feel a sense of belonging.

My time here has come to an end, and I’m stepping into the next two years as a Studio Museum & MoMA Curatorial Fellow. I’m carrying the love, care, and humanity we cultivated together into everything that comes next.

Contending with Modernism’s Ceiling for Jupiter Issue 007: Architecture.

Reviewing Architects of Liberation: Modernism in West Africa left me sitting with complicated questions about the limits of modernity as a language for liberation. Sovereignty, liberation, and modernity are so often collapsed into one another that it can obscure what disentangling ourselves from the remnants of colonialism actually requires of us.

The exhibition is on view at @themuseumofmodernart now through January 2027, and I hope you carry some of the questions I pose in the review with you as you experience it for yourself.

Thank you @camillegbacon for inviting me into such a special issue and giving me the space to stretch my thinking. I will always be up for a game of mental tennis with you 🧠💭💘. I’m deeply grateful to the entire Jupiter team for such a magical experience.

And to my angel @kadia_b, wandering through the exhibition with you on preview day, talking through our hopes, questions, and grievances, gave this piece its beginning. I left that day with so many questions I knew I needed to follow <333 by @sikabonsu_
