BANDCAMP FRIDAY 🫶 Today is a good day to remember that behind every record, song, every bit of artwork, every gig and every late-night studio session… there’s just a gang of people trying to make something they believe in. Independent music isn’t powered by big budgets or endless marketing machines. It’s powered by people buying a record. Downloading an album. Coming to a gig. Sharing a song. Telling a mate about a band. Those little things genuinely matter. Every time you buy music directly from an artist, you’re not just buying a record, you’re helping pay for the next one. You’re helping keep rehearsal rooms open, guitars strung, studios running and weird ideas alive. So this Bandcamp Friday, if there’s an independent artist or band you love, throw a few quid their way. Buy the album. Buy the shirt. Get the bloody vinyl. And if you’re skint, just share their music. It costs nothing and means more than you probably realise. To everyone who has supported SILENT-K, bought a record, come to a show, listened, shared, shouted about us or simply given us your time… Thank you. Truly. Independent music survives because people care. Keep caring. Keep listening. Keep it wonky 🤘 SILENT-K by @silent_k____
THE PROPHECY OF SILENT-K And it came to pass, on the twelfth day of the eighth month, that the Sun began to disappear. And the people looked upwards and said: “Is this a sign?” “The darkness means something.” “No. The light means something.” “The eclipse means something” “SILENT-K knows.” The crooked guitar. The broken rhythm. The strange noise The record that shouldn’t exist. The song that arrived before the people were ready for it. And when the Moon swallowed the Sun, the sky went strange. For a moment, the world became wonky. And the prophecy was revealed: WHEN THE LIGHT DISAPPEARS, THE NOISE WILL BEGIN. Not tomorrow. Not someday. NOW! KNOW! So gather your friends. Question everything. Trust nobody selling certainty. And if someone tells you they are the Messiah… Ask them to join the band. SILENT-K The eclipse was tonight. The prophecy has already begun. #solareclipse #totaltotality #SILENTK #prophecy #lifeofbrian by @silent_k____
Photoshoot with @silent_k____ singer Chris Taylor. A few days ago I was taken for breakfast and a coffee in a place I hadn’t been for many years. I sat there in awe of the brutalist architecture, the vast windows and open space allowing the light to create lines and shapes across the atrium. I felt that it would be the perfect place to capture Chris dressed in his customary stage whites. SILENT-K’s music is reminiscent of the space; angular, sharp and interesting. For reasons unknown to myself and you I decided to also use the time to interview Chris about art, music, ideas and inspiration. You can read the interview on my website.
